I was thinking of closing the hatch once it’s lit.

When renovating our previous house I had a log burner installed. It always took ages to get going and the smoke couldn’t have been great for the lungs.

Rarely used it, but it did look nice. Wouldn’t ever bother again.

I'd stick one in. When we are at war soon there'll be no gas or leccy so at least you'll have a chance of keeping warm and cooking if you can burn stuff.

Good for the environment will look less appealing when bombs are falling.

Also efficient for destroying evidence.Very popular here, partly because the houses are often built using Australian specs even though we live in a (more or less) British climate. Maybe it was the fear of earthquakes.

Set alarm for a bit later today. But woke up a few mins before it went off.

I was up at 8.30 to go to the surgery for a blood test. Back home now. Might go back to bed for an hour.

I was in early today which meant an initial 05.30 alarm, and at 15 min intervals thereafter until 06.30 when I actually got up.

Out the door at 07.40 and at office for 08.15.

You wake up at 530 to leave house at 740? That's crazy!

I've always preferred the wake up gradually method.

And I intended leaving earlier, but distractions and internets.
