Removed an old gas fireplace over the weekend and covered the hole with drywall (my gas guy had already capped the line further back, I know not to mess with explodey things). All went pretty smoothly except now I have to do a bunch of sanding and mudding and painting, which I hate.

I have no shortage of people who could do it for me, I'm just too cheap/poor to do things that I have both the time and ability to do for myself. At least it's in my den, so I can do it while I have a game of some description on.

Despite my journey back from Manchester Airport taking 4 hours on Sunday due to flooding, Transport for Wales have just rejected my compensation claim for £12.50.

Painted a wall of my den. It turns out that I do not, in fact, want walls painted in a warm tone of light pink.

Played football last night followed by end of season awards, at the strat.
Scored a goal from about two inches out. Keeper spilled it under pressure 'it came out like a bar of soap in the shower.' As he dived down on it, I moved it sideways so that he missed. As I then tried to hammer it home from about a foot, a defender came across and block tackled. An attempt to tap it in was also intercepted, and the ball ran loose sideways which I elegantly finished with the ball already kissing the line (deeply regret not throwing in a pirouette backheel finish).
I vociferously argued that it should be the recipient of the goal of the season award. 'When do you ever have four good touches from a yard out?'.
No awards for me. Again. Fix.
