Sorry about all that Lessred. I hope the next week (and beyond) is at least somewhat, if not significantly, less shit.

Lessred your better week starts tonight with a Forest win Even if that doesn’t happen the only way is up. What a wank particle of a week.

    Best wishes.

Had to go and get replacement license plates for my wife's car today as the old ones were peeling off. I walked into the Service Ontario office, took a ticket, waited ten minutes, was called to the window, presented the paperwork which was confirmed as correct, she made me sign a couple of bits of paper and informed me that the replacements were free as the old ones were damaged through normal wear and tear, and before I knew it I was heading out of the door with a brand new set of plates.

    All very straightforward and mundane.

Just read some idiotic suggestion that you should look to your mothers father, to get an idea whether you might have a tendency to go bald. It's not actually terribly helpful. I'm at an age when I have a pretty good idea by now. Also there are some practical difficulties. My mothers father is at the bottom of the sea bed, after having been torpedoed in a transport ship in 1942.

If he's been at the bottom of the sea since 1942, I reckon he is bald by now if that helps?

I’ve just read the Chinese takeaway that we use has recently been given a 1 for its food hygiene rating.

It’s now the Chinese we used to use.

Those guys need your support more than ever.

My mate got a one star rating once, people stopped using them so him and his Mrs ended up doing only fans.

You don't want that do you?

I was in a few weeks ago and he couldn’t find my order so took my phone from me to read the order number. I couldn’t help but notice how manky his hands were but thought he’s the chap out the front and not cooking so gave the benefit of the doubt. But now this.

My first job after leaving uni was a graduate store management role with Tesco. I was given the deli/fish counter and cafe to cut my teeth (as no one liked doing it and the staff were a fucking nightmare) and we were periodically inspected. The environmental health chap shopped in the store so would give me the nod a few days before he was coming which I was nice. I don’t think he was being nice, he was near retirement and it seemed more like he couldn’t be arsed to find anything untoward.

Removed an old gas fireplace over the weekend and covered the hole with drywall (my gas guy had already capped the line further back, I know not to mess with explodey things). All went pretty smoothly except now I have to do a bunch of sanding and mudding and painting, which I hate.
