Morrisons allow you to scan up to 20 receipts per month for when you forget your More card. If you've missed out on savings, you get the equivalent value in points. At the self checkouts everyone leaves their receipts behind. My bonus receipt yesterday has given me over a Fiver's worth of points, and Morrisons will now think I own a dog. Marvelous.

    Is it theft though?

Almost certainly against the terms and conditions.

On a similar note at the arcades with Little Miss Shady a few days ago we were scanning the tickets into the machine to get the receipt and buy a crap toy with it. At the ticket scanning machine next to us, an engineer was fixing the machine, and to test it was working he pulled a roll of a few thousand tickets out his bag, fed them into the machine, pushed the button for receipt, then chucked the receipt on the floor. I waited for him to walk off, picked it up, and added it to our haul. Best prize we've ever got from the arcades.

Im in Wales. The initial alert come through in Welsh. Much confusion. English alert came through a few minutes later. I understand preserving the language and all that, but if its an emergency, reaching the majority first would surely make more sense. I would wager 99.99 percent of the welsh speak English.

For some reason I got to wondering whether I could have theoretically met someone who was alive during the American Civil War.

The answer appears to be no. The oldest person alive when I was born was, herself, born about three months after it ended.

Talksport appear to have changed their stream endpoints (or withdrawn them). Need to sort that out eventually. No matter, I can go to five live for a bit.

Blimey, this has all gone a bit local hospital radio since I last listened in.

Turned down the offer of a free ticket to watch Harry Toffolo (Charlotte FC) v Richie Laryea (Toronto FC) this evening. I would have gone but I'm tired and have stuff to do.

Not saying I was drunk tonight, but I somehow found myself singing Your Love by The Outfield at a karaoke bar. And I was good.

I also had a few last night and was singing Kayleigh by Marillion when I got home.

    I wasn't good.

I had a few last night. Wasn't drunk. Wasn't singing. Which was a good thing for all concerned.

Spent a fair bit of time talking to a Sunderland fan that we bumped into. He was quite nice. Didn't sing, and some of what he said I actually understood.

Upgraded (cheap, second hand, of course) my main monitors to 2560 x 1440 to solve a problem. Didn't solve the problem (it's at the other end, the laptop). It has been transformative in terms of user experience though.

Took daughter and two friends to Cardiff for the day. One girls mother was obviously quite strict and hesitant to let her come with us, daughter persuaded her it would be ok, I was given strict instructions to always be close by.

Who'd have thunk it, said daughter, queuing for the tills gets assaulted by a woman in her 50s, proper full on slap followed by threats she was going to drag the three girls around town by their hair and then blah blah blah. All on CCTV with witnesses. Police involved, woman arrested, mother came down to pick her daughter up and is now at the police station with her daughter giving statements. Thankfully I was in the same shopping centre at the time and got there in minutes. I think I've got away with not being at fault.

I really like Cardiff, it's the one Welsh city that looks like it isn't 1976 still.
