Bought a Nexus 7 tablet off eBay for £14. Hoping I can install an unofficially maintained version of Lineage OS on it then use it as a control unit for my cheap AliExpress home automation devices.

My wife thinks I'm trying to burn the house down.

Did you run this by Tricky on these pages first?

That's an allegation that remains unproven.

He didn’t so much burn down the church as left one of his self-combusting android phones in there and let nature take its course.

Just paid my tax bill. I think that's the closest I've come to the deadline.

Due to extensive travelling in January and general procrastination (and a new work laptop meaning I lost the spreadsheet I had been organised and started mid year) I too had to do mine and wife's returns yesterday and pay the balance.

My work phone hasn't been de-googled. So at night when I turn it off, I put it in a metalic bag, and ground it.

Whilst you lot have been fighting about who’s match threads are the shittiest I have quietly put up personal training numbers in the last two weeks that have me questioning my sanity. 280 half an hour workouts in two six day weeks. Not only is this utterly unsustainable it may even be the death of me. Now we are running a promotion which may make things just as busy in the weeks ahead.

Today it went from - degrees f to a very agreeable sunny 58f (14c)

So I sat like a lump in the back garden in the sunshine drinking coffee on our lovely outdoor sofa and reading Project Hail Mary. I plan to jump into our outdoor infra-red sauna for half an hour and be a lump for the rest of the day. It’s been a splendid day.

Tomorrow I will go back to crying..

In other news for Valentine’s Day we had our money manager over to tell me (us) that if I keep it up I can retire in comfort in 7 years. I may not make it but am going to give it a go..

    Chicago: In Recovery mode.

At 650km, Wellington Phoenix v Auckland FC has got to be the least-local local derby in football.

The A road I use to get to work is almost unusable due to the amount and severity of pot holes present. It’s dark when I drive to and from work and I’ve pretty much had to learn where they are to avoid them, and it’s getting worse each week. Hit a big one this morning so will now be taking an alternative route as it’s got ridiculous.

I’m just shocked the Reform led county council hasn’t sorted it.

Jenrick has started banging on about potholes, conveniently omitting to say anything about him being an MP and cabinet minister in the government that stripped councils of the money they needed to fix the roads.

Tories break things, then their schtick is based on how breaking things more will make them better. It's a fucking lie, but luckily the electorate is largely thick, believes client journalism, and seems not to notice things like less direct taxation swapped for even more indirect taxation and more cash to donors.

This is Leics so thankfully not had to listen to that cunt. But yes the Tories can fuck off too, they allowed them to get into this state.

My local Tory MP is too busy as a reform tribute act blathering on about plans to put a whole 14 ‘illegal immigrants’ in houses across two large villages with a population of must be 5000. So he’s yet to notice the roads.

Did they strip councils of money or just mandate where it has to be spent (mostly SEND and social care)?
