Wife's visa extension application started. 2hrs in and we called it an evening. Mainly repetition of the first visa questions. I needed to type in the extended family names of my family three times and the extended names of my wife's family three times. That was a highlight. It all ends in the spectacular moment of handing over another £3900. And then we get to play "find an appointment", the game that sends you to a random UK location to get your eye scanned. Just in case it changed since the last eye scan. Can't wait.

Any cunt who ever tells you immigrants have it easy, gouge their eyeballs out.

That reminds me, both of my passports have expired.

Which is a little lax of me to be honest.

Just back from the school run. Realised I've ran out of Yorkshire Tea. Will need to pop out at lunch to get some.

Third day in a row in the office. Can't remember the last time. Surprisingly not awful.

It's the commute that does it for me - I enjoy being around colleagues but have come to realise since the pandemic there's a different way of working.

Office days = best part of three hours of my day sat behind the wheel of a car or on a tram. I drove 70 miles a day, five times a week, from 2007 to 2014, and then close to 50 from then until Covid. I really value the flexibility of home working, but am very aware I'm extremely lucky to have the option.

My commute is a 15 minute walk.

Yeah, tbh if we had an office near where I live I'd go in pretty regularly.

Yeah me too. Closest for me is Bristol (I'm in Birmingham). Can't complain though, it's a cushy gig.

You'll trigger the anti-liveable cities loons if you keep pointing out how pleasant it is to be able to achieve most of your life activities within cooee of home.
I work from home, but I'm old, experienced, the only person with my skillset with no junior, and I live 2 hours away from the office. So I go in once a fortnight and have a perfectly satisfying time as long as there aren't too many people.
I 100% appreciate that it doesn't work for everyone, but I wish more corps would recognise how well it can work under certain circumstances.

I work from home, but there's an office in our town I use once a week. Nobody else in my team works there, and everyone who goes there keeps themselves to themselves. Once a fortnight I have to go to County Hall which is an hour away. Being in the office is just a distraction, our work is incredibly solitary, only interaction with others is when a task is complete and it's passed on, or when you don't know how to do something. If we never went into County Hall I'd get more work done, but the Council don't think that's politically acceptable, so force us in.

I love not having a commute, but the school run ruins that. Hopefully increased bus services will mean I don't need to do it from September.

I'm sure everyone is already on it but Le Mans starts at 3pm UK time. Other time zones available on request.

Decided to pop down to Poole. Turns out it's Harry Paye day. Which is a local version of international pirate day.

    Dubya would have liked it.
