Yep, I picked up the first one at a second-hand bookshop a while back and have just started reading it.

I too have the Robert Ludlum books and look forward to reading them.

The Second Bourne film was the best. Was that the Supremacy? The Third was alright. The others after that were pants... i believe they might be trying to make another one which really is hard on that dead horse....

    Chicago: Ideas man.

There's a ton of humour in the Dredd comics, I'm just not convinced that Waititi is the right person to capture it. He makes dark things light, Dredd and MC1 do not need light or silly. Even the most lighthearted stories like Fatties are rooted in darkness and rot and corruption.

I'd love to see Necropolis or The Judge Child be made into a TV show.

Very much this. I can't add much to that assessment. Has to be dark with the humour fighting through the cracks

Currently reading 17, might need a new book case by the time I've collected them all.

Why is one of them black?

Typical Tory. The correct question is why so many of them are white.

UK vs US edition? I know mine look different depending on where I got them.

My one small beacon of hope for Waititi Dredd is he occasionally can show some darkness (the key deaths/loss in Wilderpeople, Next Goal Wins and Jojo Rabbit).
Also, considering Star Wars fell through for him and the ephemeral nature of Hollywood it’s very early days yet.

The first third of book one scans with the movie but after that it's a very different story, great read though.

Not sure this is something I ought to admit to... but I just had to Google Judge Dredd.

I actually thought it was a crib of Crossroads (the Ralph macchio film not the Britney Spears one) but just with Vampires instead of the Devil.

It was an odd film but I didn't hate it.

I think Ryan Coogler nicks a few ideas off other films. For example as good as Creed was, it really was a remake of Rocky.....with Rocky...

Creed’s got boxing in it but otherwise has very little in common with Rocky. Except Rocky.

This is on Netflix. Significantly better than it's IMDB rating. A familiar trope but well delivered. www.imdb.com/title/tt5315210/?ref_=ext_shr

The Ballad of Wallis Island is a lovely little film. Sweet, poignant. Funny in places.

Typically twee in a British Kind of way. I really found it heartwarming. The Island looked ace too. Wish I could live there....

    Chicago: Going Soft.
