Just watched the new Indy film. I concur decent family movie, 7.237 Triceratops.

We've got thirty minutes left. It's fine so far.

Don't think I realised until today that I definitely would Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Winding Mrs Shady up by insisting that she's the spitting image of Vicky McClure.

Watched Toy Story 4 this afternoon, in between naps. It was good. What I saw of it anyway.

Watched Violent Night. It was quite violent and was set entirely during night time so no complaints there.

    Spoilers below

Can’t help but think that Santa’s thoughts about greed and capitalism ruining the spirit of Christmas were somewhat lost when, after the bloody mist had settled all of the working class stiffs stuck on the Xmas shift had all been brutally murdered in the first act and the billionaires all survived to live happily ever after.

But, Santa did kill lots of people with a sledgehammer and stuck a star through one bloke’s eye. So, the plot is secondary to the gratuitous violence, which I’m well on board with.

I haven't watched it since last year, but I don't recall it particularly trying to send a deep political message.

Finally got round to watching Barbie. It was fun. A lot of it was well judged, and the bits that weren't I'm happy to forgive for how much they upset the people I'm happy were upset by them.

Chalk up another to have watched Indy DoD over Christmas. I went in with low expectations. It was crappy, but not as much as I feared. Watchable fun, reminded me of those National Treasure movies with Nic Cage.

    Anyone seen Rebel Moon yet?

My take too. Plenty that’s “not for me” but really important for others. And then there’s the whole conversation with Ken at the end which I think every adolescent male should really listen to.

Oh go on then, I’ll give it a go. I never watched Crystal Skull and every take was that it was awful.

Crystal Skull is awful. It's yet another of the films where Ray Winstone is horribly miscast. Simon Pegg and him seem to have the knack of being talented and likeable but just jarring in the wrong role.

Finally got round to watching 2001: A Space Odyssey. I've started it before but never got all the way through. Glad I did, I can see why it must have been such a headfuck in 1968.

I’ve been a fan since a babysitting neighbor put it on for ten year old me. It helped that they explained the ending.
If you cue up Echoes by Pink Floyd just as the Jupiter title card shows up, it synchs up remarkably well.
I love Kubrick, even if his films are all a bit sterile.

I'll give the Floyd thing a go, that could be fun. It's not like it will make it make less sense.

Watched Next Goal Wins . Taika Waititi returning to form. There are no surprises. It's a nice film done very well. Silly and heart warming. Made a nice change.

Watched Barbie yesterday. Even better than Toy Story 4! What a movie fest Christmas I am having.

Super Mario Bros was a bunch of fun, for a kid’s movie.

Surprised how close to the games it was. Obviously not much in the way of plot going on but it was all very well done.
