    Book's not a bad page-turner.

I think "a bad page-turner" is a pretty succinct description.

My memory was the book was a crock of complete shit, and the film was worse.

This was definitely around the period where I lost confidence in the stuff we were being peddled.

I liked both book and movie, but I have a high tolerance for trash.

These things are a matter of taste. I am not a fan of the shawshank redemption. Everyone else tells me it's the best film ever (it isn't). What do I know.

....but it's the holes that bother me most.

The Da Vinci code film was slightly better than the book what with being significantly shorter. Both were bad.

Speaking of bad movies, I watched It: Chapter Two last night. Great cast, fun moments and some excellent physical effects, but a complete shambles of a movie that had no need to be nearly three hours long.

He's right though. The short Stephen King story is much better.

There is going to be a Heat sequel. If it's anything close to the first one then I am in!

    Chicago: Nostalgic.

You can apply this painful optimism to so many sequels that really, really, stunk. And based on recent work, I'm not convinced Mann has the juice any more.

Watched John Wick: Ballerina (or whatever it’s called). Maybe I benefited from having my expectations lowered by the shit reviews but it’s fine?

The Roses is a remake of the horrible movie with Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas, this time starring Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch.
    It is also horrible.

The Ballad of Wallace Island - Tim Key as an oddball but charming lottery winner, who gets his favourite band together to play a gig on his island. Not taxing, quite amusing, worth your time.

We strangely liked this version of the Roses. It’s absurd yet I enjoyed the witty sweary banter between the two principles. I have seen a lot worse, like Ballerina.

    Chicago: Still married.

Last night I rewatched Now You See Me, which is still preposterous fun. Then I watched the sequel, Now You See Me 2, which I have not seen before. It is atrocious.
