Everyone said it was too long

I have absolutely no recollection of anyone saying that, never mind everyone.

I think it's way too long and really quite annoying. It's like a 3 hour trailer.

    Dune 2 out at cinema.

I've not seen Dune 1, have started it in train today. Hasn't really grabbed me so far, worth sticking with it?

Really needs to be seen on the biggest screen possible with the volume cranked up. It's an excellent immersive visual experience with wonderful sound, and a very dull story. About as far removed from an optimal train movie as I can imagine.

I was watching it on my phone so about the smallest screen possible!

I think they've missed a trick (round here anyway) by not putting a smattering of Dune 1 on between the many Dune 2 showings.

    Dune was excellent.
Dune 2 had some amazing bits, but missed a lot and ended flat. Imho. Obvs.

I believe this is a minority view.. but I thought the soundtrack to the first one was one of the worst soundtracks I’ve ever heard. A cacophony of overblown nonsense that was more like a parody of dramatic movie scores than a serious attempt to actually be one.

I’m totally unfamiliar with the source material or prior movies etc. Though it was slow going, I did manage to enjoy it despite the soundtrack. Not sure if I’ll go see the second one or wait until they are all done and watch them at home where I can turn the fucking volume down.

It's definitely a minority view, Hans Zimmer is one of the most well respected movie composers working today and he literally won an Oscar, a Grammy and a bunch of other awards for his work on Dune.

The worm-riding sequence in 2 is astonishing with the full-blown sound on. Would carry no weight whatsoever on a phone

This is mostly correct. It's a brilliant movie, but really not one you'd want to watch, at least for the first viewing, on your phone.

Another vote for you need to watch it preferably on IMAX or at least on a bigger screen with Atmos.

Did the IMAX in central Manchester which is apparently one of only about 4 in the country which is the full IMAX. Really was quite the spectacle
