In the nineties BT was prevented from selling anything other than phone services over it's network, to protect the monopoly of the new cable franchises, so that their sale price could be optimised, and the cash generated find it's way into Tory partners profits.
There is still no UK wide fibre optical network to consumers.
That option does not exist in my area.

After six years I've finally accepted it's time to get a new phone. I've had a good run (OnePlus 7 Pro), but it is now struggling.
Anyway, any tips for a new android phone? looking at mid to high end as I want it ot last for a while. Lots of storage, not so concerned about camera as they are all more than enough for my purposes.
