Taking the "Nottingham" out of forest, and putting megalomaniac Greek shipping magnet in, has been the modus operandi for some time now.
Glad you've noticed. Like the thread.
For all Marinakis’ well documented downsides, on balance I’d still rather have him as our owner than an American billionaire who doesn’t understand football, a global private equity firm or a petrostate. I think Marinakis wants roughly the same things that I do. Glory. Winning stuff. Pride. Sticking it up the Sky 6. Not financial gain or to wash away the stains of a vile regime. He’s far from perfect and in terms of integrity he’s probably not fit to lace Doughty’s brogues, but I’m prepared to cut him a bit of slack when his ego starts its willy waving.
Can we rename this thread to ‘I, for one, welcome our new Greek overlord’?
Charlie should start his own thread called that then c&p in his opening tirade.
You left out the porn baron. And Daniel Levy
100% on board with Charlie’s take on Mr Marinakis. Just amused by the neediness.
And Fawaz.
Are there any premier league ownership models to which we do aspire?

I used to tell my kids that it was me and the missus that paid for the presents that Santa delivered. If I’m forking out for shit out of my own pocket, I’m getting the credit.
Are there any premier league ownership models to which we do aspire?
Not for me comrade. See you on the barricades...
Are there any premier league ownership models to which we do aspire?
Brighton, obvs, please try and keep up.
Are there any premier league ownership models to which we do aspire?
No. I aspire to a post Premier League world (I know, I know).
In the meantime it's quite funny watching Morgan with his arms crossed and head down praising Marinakis while the owner looms over him.
The video interview with Morgan is really something. It's all about Mr Marinakis.
I’d still rather have it all about Marinakis than go back to the era of “Fawaz Day”.
For that matter, I wouldn’t be that keen on a kleptocratic Russian, a porn baron, sportwashing petrochemical state, US venture capitalist whose focus is on share price more than events on the soccerball diamond… or Daniel Levy.
Doesn’t leave much.
100% agree. He's a gangster and a raging narcissist, but he's our narcissistic gangster and I love him.
