It's pretty clear where we need to get better. I hope the Brazilian centre back is good, that Andrey Santos can win and play the ball, and that we get a keeper. Maybe Rangers would like McKenna.

We obviously need to be wary of clip compilations, but this does look promising...

Sorry mate… but have you been drinking? The fact that we are even remotely in this game is a miracle. A back three of Worrall, Boly, McKenna against a gazillion pounds worth of attacking threat. I had this down as 4 or 5 nil, easy,
This is key for me. Last season we lost at arsenal and at Old Trafford (twice) without remotely concerning them. These two performances at least show we are progressing.

We haven't been shit. I think that tactically we could have done things a bit differently, and our patchwork defence is showing, but we aren't rolling over the way we did last year in games like this.

Yeah, the performances and results away at Arsenal and Man U this season compared to last season are a huge step forward IMO.

Dry since Christmas. Not through choice. Maybe that's the problem. I'm just angry at the inevitability of it all.

You say inevitable, Onana just had to make a reflex save to prevent us from scoring a third. Even down to ten we're still in this.

Agreed, and this has to be what we take from the game. It's frustrating because of the mad start but we were never really likely to hold on at Old Trafford for such a long time. We've made United work hard for his and bloodied their nose. Last season we had our arses handed to us four times. This is progress, especially given it's such a scratch defence.
Just seen the red. At the other end, the covering defender makes that a yellow.

Radio Nottingham wondered the same, and also felt there should have been a VAR check for a push on Boly in the United box. Russ, anything in that?

As a proof point: Onana booked for timewasting. Not something a dominating team does.

Boly thought so, I couldn't tell you honestly. We recycled the ball into Boly having a volley on target well saved, so no one really made a fuss about it.
Wood has made a massive difference, he's so much better as a link up man than Taiwo.
Seems like only one team wants to score and the other is time wasting? How clear was the Wood chance, Russ?

Not only that but it seems his more, uh, “combative”(?) style of keeping is all good until he tries it on someone like Wood.

Keeper, defender and Wood came together at the exact same moment. Could have gone in any direction, no blame on Wood.
