It's hard to say based on one game and that opposition, but he sees the game so well - his first touch is a pass more often than not, and he's constantly looking to move the ball forward. He looks like the guy Remo Freuler was billed as.
Take one Roy Keane (peeled), add a coarsely chopped Gemmil with a sprinkling of the Paul McKennas and blend with a tablespoon of cayenne pepper. Knead a Garry Parker (with two Rs) into mix, bake for 20 minutes at 180 degrees and serve alongside Sangare, Yates and/or Mangala.
I thought Manc Citeh to start with were imperious. After going down 2-0 we decided that we were going to try and play football. Clearly Cooper shot a rocket up then at half time and said play hard and get it up ‘em. We did put it about and citeh got pissed off and Rodri lost his wig.
Taiwo had a difficult one and one and Ederson lost his rag too. We had them rattled and played some nice stuff but nothing deadly. Outside Elanga and Our big giant smiling Nigerian we don’t have a goal scorer. I would have thrown on Yates (if we still had subs) after Mangala got a yellow.
They conceded Possession and I feel we made a mistake taking off Aina who was fucking brilliant again. Montiel is a red card waiting to happen. Also we went a bit Arsenal and just passed and threw the ball into the box when a shot or two would have been a good idea.
Not terrible at all but fuck me Phil Foden really is a player I would give my left nut to have in our side. I would say he is the best English player at the moment and deservedly so. His goal was special.
So, we are not poo. We hunted in packs when Citeh was rattled. Dominguez I suggested we trial by fire and I must say… much better impression than Sangria… (I think that is what I will call Sangara until he seasons…)
Niakhate and Boly much much more athletic and stable than the scotch and the blond ginger (who may feel a litttle hard done by…..)
Would have been delighted with 0-2 before the game. But as things turned out, with the sending off, I was disappointed we didn’t really work the keeper until added time. It would have been good if Tavares had stayed on as Montiel isn’t much of an attacking force. City were magnificent in those first 20 minutes but also defended really well in the second half. I thought our 11 were a decent match for their 10. Was impressed with Dominguez and Aina was good again.
Sorry Chicago, but I have almost got to the point where I just scroll past your posts as I have no idea who the hell you are talking about with all these bloody obtuse nicknames for players. They aren’t even established nicknames, just ones that exist in your own monologue. It really is my pet hate
