I'm not planning to bother, but see Lineker is interviewing Cooper direct so maybe they will be a bit more attentive than usual. Cooper is excellent as always in the interview.

I need to work out what is happening. Is it the physical training? Is it how we manage them in the game, to keep their legs fresh? Is it just natural athleticism?
.... because Awoniyi and Elanga are absolutely roasting whoever they come up against. Taiwo hasn't even pre-seasoned properly, they say.
It's not normal to keep outrunning whole teams, over the length of the pitch, like they do.
I think we have deliberatelt built a particularly athletic squad. Awoniyi, Elanga, Yates, Boly, Aina, Mangala, Kouyate and Wood coming on looked so big and strong company to the likes of Enzo, Caicedo and Mudryk. Men vs boys.
Apologies if already mentioned, but I thought Cooper's radio nottm interview was excellent. Measured, honest, dignified. He really does seem to understand this club, the fans and the city.
Agreed, including a very classy tribute to Joe Worrall's performance after an extremely difficult week for him.
It's perhaps a useful reminder that footballers are ordinary human beings. Having a good job (albeit one that requires sacrifice and exceptional drive, and is highly uncertain) does not protect you from all the range of things that affect peoples lives.
Generally they are a pretty good bunch, with the normal statistical variation.
If he'd been crap, there would have been a lot less admiration.... but it doesn't make him less admirable.
Fair play. We were actually the main focus. Lots of praise from Wright as well as JJ.
Anthony Elanga is the new Franz Carr. Maddeningly brilliant, fabulously instinctual and someone who brain farts when he has too much time to think. I can relate. If he had passed to Wiley I think it would have been 2-0… but what a weapon to have!
Does anybody Doubt Ryan Yates value to the team yet? He managed to piss off probably 8 Chelsea players who all pushed him, kicked out at him and tried to get him booked. His foul on Sterling was well timed too. Joe was fucking brilliant too as was one legged Boly.
It pains me to say it but the Canadian gaslighter is correct this week. A Double MOM for our home grown duo. (Brennan who?)
Stevie is going to have a headache now when it comes to Bumley. Elanga or Sangare or both? Danilo is a bit buggered and Scott is a hamstring away from being out. Boly is terrific. He is not going to last the season but he really is the glue until Felipe and Niahkate are ready. Even then if he is not in Saudi I would play him.
Absolutely smash and grab. Fcuking magic.
Chicago: Hometown hero.
Just noticed it was £115 million player Caicedo, who miscontrolled for the goal. Worth every penny, I’d say.
Did you notice that it was Yates who took it off him? Proper made me laugh.
It was a really good goal. Pressed the opponent, forced the error, turned over the ball, got it into the box in a matter of seconds and Elanga's finish was deadly. Loved how he didn't need or attempt to smash it - just looked up and calmly passed it into the bit of the goal the keeper couldn't get to. Quality all round.
Quality all round.
You know how they say that one of the biggest differences between the Premier League and the Championship is that in the Premier League your mistakes get ruthlessly punished?… that was us… that’s what we did… proper Premier League shit.
This might be the funniest thing ever
Chicago: Roaring with laughter.

Taiwo is at 8, I think.

That is hilarious. Why on Earth is it a thing to watch someone online who is watching the game? [Apart from to provide material for that sort of epic compilation, obvs.]
