There were a fair few things that came together for us today (newcastle leggy, and for some reason reluctant to attack our weaknesses - unlike many recent opponents , playing a sluggish high line, making it nice and easy for us to get in repeatedly behind without having to be too precise, and us actually taking some chances).

The referee wasn't one of them. Let's not forget how bad that prick was.

If we played like that, against that calibre of opponent every week....then happy days. I suspect that it might be a bit more complicated than that. I'm currently watching manure play...they are reassuringly shite...but they are reassuringly shite while being individually better in every position. We have to hope a lot of these teams have an off day...because the squad hasn't suddenly been cured overnight. Despite what it might feel like tonight. ...oh and I think nuke hassle have lost five of the last six in all comps and looked dead on their feet for weeks, with a massive injury crisis...but...you know.....you need the luck of not playing teams always in their best form sometimes.

I thought the ref was ok today. Yes the pen was soft but they get given and Aina shouldn’t have dangled his leg out.

Maybe I’m still not over that cunt Rob Jones yet so anything that wasn’t him seemed half decent.

On another day we wouldn't have got away with so much penalty box pinball at our end.
On another day the cross for the equaliser wouldn't have gone through Schar's legs.
On another day Schar might've incepted the through ball to Wood rather than choosing that moment to look round to see where Wood was.
We've had lots of those other days this season. We'll probably have more of them this season. I'll celebrate this day. And rest assured I have been. Getting off the no alcohol tablets in time for Christmas has been...nice.

Weird. We didn't look like getting much, and newcastle got a free kick every time they fancied a sit down. I thought he was poor. I take your point - I mean not as groundbreaking atrocious as some of them are...but still bad.

I thought Noocassul were the diviest, whiniest bunch I've seen in a while. After the ref rewarded Isak's dramatics with the penalty I think it gave them belief that that was a foolproof tactic to get more, while he was not great on another day he could have given them more than he did.

I thought I saw Steven on the bench today. Might be wrong..

Shown clearly on the MOTD coverage. (We also got a lengthy, and very positive analysis, from a Forest perspective.)

Apparently Nuno said prior to the game that Sangare has lost quite a bit of weight as a result of his illness, and wasn't completely ready. I thought he played really well today and his ball control in tight situations was excellent, but clearly he was tiring.

This is what it looked like for a while, but playing him made both him and Cooper look bad. Clearly something was going rather poorly around the place.

I liked that just before he launched into footballese, Wood responded quietly to that comment with “Bit harsh”, which made MGW chuckle.

Or whacked it from 30 yards.

Completely right, but I do love him, and hope nuno doesn't try to curtail his enthusiasm

Didnt Wes Morgan used to do something similar in his early years?
