Did note this at the time - think it was from a corner? As their guy crossed the half way line, it felt like a dangerous break, then the cavalry arrived...
Haven’t seen Crouch in a long time, so seeing him stood next to normies and kids was arresting. He really is pretty fucking tall, isn’t he?

First time I'd ever seen him or heard of him was at WFCG when he came galloping on for QPR like an awkward giraffe and got unfairly and unkindly roundly mocked for being a tall lad with an unseemly gait.
Just got back from my vacation and watched the game. I actually thought Brighton didn't look horrific - they were second best in every department and their midfield was utterly outclassed, but we were absolutely clinical and Elanga was unplayable.
I thought we were a bit silly to turn down £50m for Elanga. Fortunately I was given no say in the matter. I don’t want to overreact to a hot streak, but he seems to have stepped up massively and added the intelligence and delivery to his game that made him a little too frustrating last season. He’s still young, but is turning into a top class player.
He has all the tools. I read a line somewhere a while back that the feeling within the club is that Elanga has the highest ceiling of anyone in the current squad.
If he can consistently nail the decision-making and final-ball execution, as he has been recently, he can go as high as he wants in the game. As Russ says, it's virtually impossible to stop a player who can run and kick at insane speed.
I too could only watch it after the event - I must have used the Forest TV “whole match” replay more this season than previous seasons added together. I wouldn’t disagree with anything you wrote, but MGW was every bit as unplayable as Elanga. Shirley his best performance in a Forest shirt. And how on Earth did their right back escape without a booking? In the second half in particular he was fouling anything that moved.
My Brighton mate is just about able to face to world again now (4 days later), but he is still incandescent about the manager’s suicidal formation. I almost felt sorry for Hinshelwood in the first 45; he was being asked to cover Anderson, Danilo & MGW all on his own. I would normally steer clear of accusations of arrogance / lack of respect, but I can see what Martin Keown meant on MotD; it looked as though Brighton thought “this lot were hammered last week, so if we just go for them they will fall apart”. It was almost a fan selection; the “if we put loads of attacking players on at the same time, it stands to reason we’ll blow them away with our attacking prowess” theory.
Oh, and Lewis Dunk was never speedy, but that performance was embarrassing.
Agree wholeheartedly. Guru minor texted me to say “I’ve never seen Forest play as well as this.” Everyone played really well. I was particularly pleased to see Danilo get 60 mins, for Sangare to come on and get stuck in, Taiwo showed glimpses (especially ahead of Neco’s goal) and Jota Silva showed why he’s a better option off the bench in a broken game.
And I’m putting their tactics down to Hürzeler’s arrogance. I’ve said it many times, he’s an immature cockwomble. He was booked again and took no responsibility in the post match (and gave no credit to Forest, no surprise there).
Just remembered he got booked for their absurd penalty claim when Welbeck flicked his head back into Milenkovic's teeth. I think the only vaguely contentious issue was the 6th goal could have been disallowed for Sangare's handball but, as someone pointed out at the time, there was a decent case for another penalty for him being fouled.
Had a quick look to see what their forum was saying and they are not keen at all. Lots of talk of him losing the dressing room (yawn) and generally being out of his depth. Consensus is Bloom wouldn't want to get rid mid-season when they aren't in danger but he's probably off in the summer and they'd want McKenna (Keiran, rather than the left-field shout of Paul), who they went for last summer, as a replacement.
My son posted something similar on the family Forest chat at half time. If I'd had a signal, I would have replied "What? Better than that 6-0 v Stoke we went to when Marlon scored four?" Turns out he was right.
Just watching the entire game back. I'm 25 minutes in. He's given the ball away, in our half, through an error, 5 times already. He's obviously rusty and overall had a very good game (they all did) but to point out he was particularly excellent is incorrect IMO.
Not sure if anyone has linked to the bench cam video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1zhhm9SNJg
Obviously you can't read much into it, except it looks like our reserve goalkeeper feels the cold and it was noticeable that everyone leapt out for the 7th goal.
I think Cool Brian Rice with the Thunderbirds eyebrows might be rather popular...
Didn't get an answer to this. I'm going to hazard a guess that buggerface saw the 2nd reply to his thread starter post, saw the kitten avatar and thought it was me replying rather than SWT.
