So Ingo lost to Swansea and Shady can't conjur up European magic so it's up to me to resurrect Brentford Domination.... Or Something.

So can Ange ball result in us not conceeding loads of goals in our quest for total football? Well having Murillo back helps, but possibly losing Douglas Luiz is a bit of a blow too. But that is what squads are for..

Chris Wood should be back and raring to go unless Jesus has done enough to bring love back into the Australian's heart.

I am hoping that Anderson and MGW aren't totally knackered. The Betis game looked like it took it's toll. Sunderland have started well and they have that shithouser Granit Wanker (Xhaka) in midfield who will no doubt cause a bit of bother with his nasty fouls. He is a clever player, not so sure about a clever person as he chose Sunderland but that is another story for another time. They have bags of energy and we have a leaky defence. I am sure it will entertaining but will we be celebrating or putting our fingers over our eyes? The fun part is...I have no fucking clue.

I am guessing that Ange will pick the team based on the fitness of the players which is fair enough. I wonder if we will see McAtee or is he a lazy sod? maybe a dash of Dom?

I am thinking probably not and a similar team to Wednesday with Murillo and Savona coming in for either Morato or the Serbinator depending on who is still standing and Zinchenko with Neco swapping sides. Who replaces Luiz? I assume Sangare stays in the team and the wingers will be Cho and N'Doye. Although Hutchinson might get a run out. Would get my hopes up for Taiwo as he has shown more than Kalibueno for the time being but it seems he might be for the patio as I don't see him getting much of a run out with Jesus looking good.

I think we win 3-1. Or 5-4. Or lose 2-3. (kidding about the last score).

Let's see. It will be bewildering of that I am sure.

    Bring it on.

They have started well at home, yes. Away they have lost 0-2 to the Shy Moor Folk & drawn 0-0 at Paliss. Not terrible, but not terrifying either. Even at home their opponents have been West Ham (yes, I know...), Brentford & Villa (who seem incapable of scoring at present, for some reason).

I'm not belittling the way they have started; as we know from persona l experience, promoted teams need momentum & to get points from wherever they can. But it would be easy to be drawn into a narrative where Sunlun are scary (not that I think you were saying that), and I don't think they need to be seen that way.

Hopefully Ange has now seen the light with Sangare after his latest performance.

  • 25 Sep 2025, 4:43 p.m.

I doubt it because Luiz might be injured.

    Chicago: campaigning for Our Ryan.

If Sunderland have a decent right winger I'll be stunned if they don't continually attack where Zinchenko isn't.

    3-2 to the marauding Garribaldi.

Maybe Murillo can cover the left side better than Morato but I share your concern.

  • 25 Sep 2025, 6:31 p.m.

This is why I would like to see Savona involved. Neco unless injured seems the most robust and undroppable at the moment. Unless a change of formation is initiated.

Chicago: Square Peg in round hole.

I’m not kidding but there were plenty of people who were praising his performance yesterday. I’m sceptical but he was ok first half when we were tearing them a new one.

Also, you’re getting like an old git in Clough Upper. “Gerrim Off!!”

  • 25 Sep 2025, 8:18 p.m.

Fletch and the co-comm spent the first half raving about him and people will be influenced by that.

  • 25 Sep 2025, 8:18 p.m.

I believe in Jesus and hope he starts again. And it's probably not that popular an opinion, but I'd give MGW a rest and start McAtee.
(And I know he was immense in the first half against Betis, but were there shades of Anderson trying to do too much and getting caught unnecessarily as the match went on?)
    Anyway, we're overdue. 3 nil.

    Did I miss something?

  • 25 Sep 2025, 8:20 p.m.

Thankfully I was watching on US TV so didn't have to hear that. Can only assume Sangare has photos of Fletch in a compromising position.

I'll stick my neck out and say I thought he was good .... Until the 70 minute mark when things really started to go astray, I presume because he was knackered.

I like Neco on the right as I think he'll shoot (and score more) from that position.

More generally, if we're serious about having a squad not a team, we could do with testing a few on Saturday. But given Ange hasn't yet won a game I don't think he can afford to.
