For Some reason I have taken an instant dislike to Arnie Cnut Slot. He looks like a 70's style Ernst Stavro Blofeld arch baddie and has been mardy about us winning at Anfield all season. He still won't shut up about it. He also seems like an arrogant tosspot and I would love it, Love it! (Echoes Of Kevin Keegan )....if we did them at the WFCG. I suspect Liverpool being smart will sit back and hit us on the counter rather than the other way around which would somewhat decrease the odds, but hey ho confidence is high and why not an Elanga mega run and master finish?

We can get at them through the wing backs. That is what Newcastle, The Manc Scum and Totteringham have done of late.

Can they score from anywhere? Unfortunately yes. Salah is obviously as huge weapon and Dias is a slippery little fuck. Don't get me started on the demon seed that is our bogey man Diogo Jota.

So a Win and I may jizz in my tea (and we have a chance) but the sensible part of me sees a draw. Probably 1-1 with the Bin Dippers probably being the happier of the two teams. But, I would pay huge money to see Slot's head explode if we did them again. That would be amazing!

Who scores for us? Probably Wood, but my fantasy of course is the amazing Elanga slalom run for the ages...

Sod off Scousers, I hate you...

    Chicago: Ever the Hopeful.

    2-0 Forest would be beautiful.
As we know though, it’s the hope that kills you so I’m braced for a 1-3 reverse.

I don't think Liverpool, and very top teams like them, are built like that. It's just not in their mentality, they don't train for it, they don't want to do it. They're built to dominate their opponents through superior skill in possession, and they usually can.

I think it's the only game he lost in 2024, between Feyenoord and Liverpool. And, yeah, he possibly felt we were beneath him, which makes it even funnier.

I'm feeling a 1-2 loss here. Slot will be desperate to beat us and will have had chance to plan for Nuno ball in detail. But I note that our approach has slowly become more adaptable over the season so there could well be another surprise in store.

We laid down and died for Citeh and Arse, but since then we’ve had a bunch of good results and people talking about us being genuinely quite good at this. So this game is a big mental test as well as a football one. I hope we turn up and give them a good game. I expect we’ll lose because they are very good and should beat us. But hopefully we’ll play like a side that thinks it can win.. like we did at Anfield.. cos if we do that, we might get a result.

1-3, but in the game for 70+ minutes.

I think a backs to the wall smash and grab. 2-0 we score in the first 10 mins, hang on for 80 mins then score from a jwp disputed free kick in injury time from a Yates dive.

Yeah - this is the advantage of having five of the big six at home in the second half of this season. Most of the other clubs would/will sit back and try to make it hard for us now they'll be a bit wary of what we've done.

Point of order - I don't think that this is correct. We actually played fairly well. XG was 1.98 to 1.24.

Slot giving Forest a lot more respect than he did a few months ago. This is from his presser:

If Forest is up there with us, they are definitely a team that are in competition for us. They deserve to be treated like this. Look at how they play and their results. It will be a very difficult challenge to get the result.

They have already shown how good a team they are. In general, whenever Liverpool a home game, it is something we don't expect. For us to lose then was hard to take. It's now not as much of a shock result as I thought back then. They had a very good gameplan.

The opening of a game is always very important, especially away from home. The atmopshere will be fired up, especially from the start. It is important to not make that going even more. They don't concede many goals but they don't take many risks. They have a lot of players behind the ball and work really hard. That is something we have in common. They have CBs who can defend the box really well. We experienced this at Anfield where we hardly created a chance. They deserved to win. They made us play a poor game while they did really well in that game. We know it's going to be tough.

My red Scouse colleagues are rather concerned. Strange times.

  • 13 Jan 2025, 10:29 a.m.

Point of order, don’t get TET started on stats and, apart from Wood missing a sitter, we laid down and died for Citeh.
I fear the same tomorrow. Early bindipper goal knocks the wind out of everyone, they add two more and it’s very comfortable for them.

  • 13 Jan 2025, 10:29 a.m.

Can also see that happening. Though if we're 1-0 down with 20 to go I think the crowd will pick-up and try to get us a goal.

  • 13 Jan 2025, 12:29 p.m.

VAR will probably rule the crowd being off though.

  • 13 Jan 2025, 12:35 p.m.

There's been a bit of a call-out for everyone to bring scarves tomorrow. I will be taking part.

Harry Arter Stand for me tonight.

This has the potential to be the greatest league game I'll ever witness, so we'll get turned over 5-1.
