Many chants purpose is to wind up the opposition fans isn't it? This one seems to do the job well and still be on the right side of outright offensive.

  • 30 Dec 2025, 2:37 p.m.

I'd say no to both. As already pointed out it's the equivalent of them chanting "scabs" which doesn't wind anyone up and is moderately offensive to a wide range of people, but with the extra sauce of being quite stupid.

It's probably the Forest chant that irritates me the most, even more than 20somethings singing about being Champions of Europe.

If you cannot make fun of the scousers what’s the point?

Fucking hell everyone is so sensitive. At least we have “tits and Fanny and Forest”,… oh hold on.

Thanks fuck I am watching it on television instead.

    Chicago: Dinosaur.

Think this chant needs some work tbh. Can you hum it?

  • 30 Dec 2025, 2:58 p.m.

No one said you can't make fun of the scousers. That's a very gammon response to saying that that particular chant is both shit and ineffective.

If we agree that some chants are unacceptably offensive (e.g. "town full of Pakis") and some just utterly stupid (e.g. chanting "you've never won fuck all" to teams like Leeds and Burnley) then all we're doing now is negotiating over where the line for each lies. This one is far more in the second category than the first IMO and I don't think the club should be getting involved with determining the quality of terrace chanting, but if you're the kind of person who thinks that singing "Sign on" to Everton fans is amusing or clever then I would urge you to have a rethink of your values.

Really, chants aren't a wind up?

Off the top of my head,

    My Garden shed
    Is this a library
    Only here for the xx
Seen the xx now fuck off home
    Small town in xx
We can see you sneaking out
    Is there a fire drill

Are wind up chants rather than team encouragement.

Sorry, I was referring to this specific one fitting those categories.

'Deck the halls' just about works as a tune.

I think it's a pity that people choose to do the poverty chant.
I think it's a pity that people choose to get offended by it (some might be genuinely hurt by it but there's too much proxy offence).
I think it's a pity that the club chooses to attempt to police it.
In other news water is wet, grass is green and the world is full of cunts.

I’d suggest suggesting Derby fans have sex with animals, and that Wolves fans talk funny are as offensive as suggesting some people (who won’t even be at the game) from Liverpool don’t have much food.

  • 30 Dec 2025, 3:45 p.m.

I don't agree at all. People from Derby having sex with animals isn't a real thing. Wolves fans talking funny is a real thing and harmless to mock. Food insecurity and poverty are massive issues in the UK and not a topic for mockery and feigned superiority.

    YMMV.

  • 30 Dec 2025, 4:07 p.m.

My point is: I couldn’t give two fucks about chanting unless it’s racist. I don’t believe I have sang much other than “we hate Derby”, which I don’t really ‘cos they don’t really mean anything anymore… who fucking cares. The only one Getting their panties in a bunch is you. If you want to he offensive and honest then we really should just chant, “you’re a town full of victims, a town full of victimmmsss”, which is true if a bit mean. Having said that, it’s more aimed at the red part of town so I suspect the Everton fans would be fine wirh it. Also if you have food security issues what are you doing at a football match that costs a fortune nowadays?

Chicago: At work muttering to myself.

Meanwhile I'm in the Big Shed. Fancy a pint?
    Fucking cold

  • 30 Dec 2025, 5:51 p.m.

"Why should I be bothered by them chanting about Pakis if I'm not a Paki?"

  • 30 Dec 2025, 6:21 p.m.

Did not foresee Zinchenko as the only change (should be more for two games this close together but...)

  • 30 Dec 2025, 6:21 p.m.

Presumably at LB with Neco moving to the right. Don't love that.

Savona is on the bench so I'm guessing it's tactical rather than fitness related.
