Maybe I'm too generous and I was only watching on an iPad but I didn't blame the goalkeeper for any of the goals. The first two were basically point blank with no chance to react and the third was a brilliantly struck first time shot with no chance to set himself after the ball hit the woodwork.
I was livid at full time but I haven't abandoned all hope. A raft of new signings played some more than decent stuff at times and whilst some of the subs were...curious it's not like Ange was throwing on academy youngsters at Anfield. It's also not his fault that the ass ref (probably incorrectly) disallowed a goal, that the finishing was laughably shite or that for the 2nd game running MGW stood for Monumentally Gash Waster.
Defensive structure when facing corners and their aftermath needs some urgent attention though.
Against Arsenal, it looked like we were using the same approach to corners as Nuno (unsurprisingly) with all our best headers on zonal duty around the six yard box and three (I think) picking up their main threats. It looked similar last night, which was how we ended up with Boly struggling to get to the ball and McAtee not jumping as the man-marker for their first goal.
We also don't bother to pick up players on the edge of the box (presumably gambling that we can get men out if we need to and it'll take something exceptional to score anyway), which has cost us with Arsenal's first and Swansea's third.
