Morgan was absolutely class in that first half. Sat amongst the West Ham fans they were jealously admiring him and screaming to 'stop giving him space!'. There was one passage of play where he dropped into the right back area, beat a man, then whacked a 40 yard grass-cutter out to the left win. It was wonderful.
I thought the interplay with him, Sangare, Anderson and Dominguez was very good. The shape worked well and for periods of the first half we looked excellent.
I didn’t understand taking off all off the first three in one go. I know they looked gassed but it was tough when they went off as we conceded quite soon after that.
I think he was trying to save their legs and thought that, just about, the game was gone from West Ham. He was kinda right. Just.
Still can't believe Murillo came out for the second half. He went down the tunnel at the end of the first half on one of those golf buggy things with his head in his hands on the verge of sobbing!
It obviously won’t be our problem but I do worry a little about the long term effects of the number of times we are making/letting him play when he’s clearly got significant injuries.
Yes, that was my thought. Sangare hasn't played a huge number of minutes this season and perhaps they didn't plan for him to last the whole game, Gibbs-White has to play now next Sunday so not worth the injury risk, and Anderson was on a booking so one mistimed tackle away from missing Chelsea.
Agree that it was perhaps strange to swap them all out at the same time, though.
It was a sublime moment. Sadly, I think Sunday is likely his last game for Forest. Been a joy to watch over the last three years and he'll go with my very best wishes.
Just a pity he's going to leave with 'fucked the Champions League' on his CV, eh Jim?
