And what the fuck was that MOTD? The shit Man U Vs Arse game analysed to fuck and it's on first whereas England's impending No6 hardly gets a mention.

Especially when they put out something the other day about how running order early in the season was almost exclusively chosen by number of goals.
Only later in the season when games may have big impacts at the top or bottom would lower scoring games be shown earlier.

YOu think that's bad. There were three games today. Forest weren't mentioned at all. All they banged on about was Chelsea and Palace and THE BIG ONE! - SCUM V'S ARSE.

Our game was by far the most interesting and yet not a mention beforehand and nary a mention afterward.

That is why the Premier League and coverage is wank..

    Chicago: Frustrated.

Finally saw the goals and they were simultaneously brilliant and hilarious. Wood getting so much time on the first before just putting something on it, then Ndoye putting a desperate header miles away from the keeper with the defender behind him, and then Anderson surgically matching Wood's pace after Brentford misplaced one so Wood barely even looked up.
    That was magic.

Shows why the lack of goals pre-season was overblown, given the lack of signings. These are players who already know each others’ games.

Has anyone done a welfare check on Jimbo? After all his pre-season panicking (lack of signings, no goals, it's all gone to shit, etc), I was concerned he may have spontaneously combusted at full-time or something.

Think he said he wanted the recruitment team to insert an 'is he a cunt?' metric into their work?

I’m delighted with how we played, but not over-excited as, come May, Brentford at home may well prove to be one of the easiest games every team plays. Given Sunderland spent big and had a good first day, Brentford are in my early season relegation predictions.

Still.. the passes for goals 2 and 3 are the two best things I saw across all the games so far and we know that MGW and Anderson can do that against anyone. If we also met the real Sangarre then that is an incredibly good midfield, very well supplemented by Murillo and the full-backs. It’s an awful lot to try and play against.

Murillo being comfortable stepping forward and being an alternative No6 really is powerful for us. It’s not just the runs and the cross-field ball striking.. just doing the simple things a class or two better than the vast majority of defenders helps us a lot, and really gives Anderson, and by extension MGW, more freedom to be where they want to be. I think we’re very lucky that none of the insane money the big nobs were spaffing this summer was aimed at him. He’d be a bigger loss than Elanga.

Given they only have 2 fit centre backs, I'm not getting carried away that Liverpool won't try to sign Murillo. Nor, given we signed Jair, that we wouldn't let him go (for a bucket of cash).
I still think they missed a trick with Aina.

Yeah, I think a bid from Chelsea, Liverpool or United for Murillo could well happen before deadline day.

I really hope Palace sell Eze and Guehi before Sunday, but unfortunately think they'll try and hold onto them until after their conference league games.

I think they’d have to bid 9 figures at this stage. Which would be a massive gamble when you’d be moving either him or van Dyke to their least favoured side.

For sure, but you really want to be lining up a replacement for one of the greatest centre-backs in history before he becomes useless. They'll be hoping for a slow decline rather than a sudden collapse, but having so little cover at his age and with the workload of this season is not wise.

Maybe they should get Morato instead. Or Carmo.

Liverpool are after Guehi. They can probably get him for 35 million.

I think Murillo is safe until Chelsea come calling.

And he would be foolish to go there. Maresca is a proper mardy cunt. They already have 8 CBs (or 7 plus Colwill) at around £200m worth and he’s claiming he needs a new one. Plus he won’t tolerate Murillo’s independence and spontaneity.

It’s a no from me. Unless he’s splashing >>100M and spending a couple back our way.
