I have failed miserably in completing this website where were archiving all the Bandy & Shinty stuff, but for anyone who didn't buy the originals (as if there is such a person here!) then Julie's memories of that trip can be read here:

The man who turned revenge into an art form

Cracking little piece that. She was a very talented writer. Hope Forest recognize her at one of the remaining home games. It's news like this that makes me miss home and wish that we web mongs could get together more often. I guess I am a sentimental sod after all.

Notice Danny Taylor has tweeted about Jules today, including a photo of her with the skipper from a friendly at Cobh Ramblers in the early 1990s. Presume that fixture must have been part of the Keane deal.

Got a link? Given I have no X account now it's hard to find stuff like that directly.

Funeral will be held on Friday 10th April at the Rushcliffe Oak Crematorium at 1.15pm. Dress code is colourful: football shorts, scarves, band t-shirts etc.

Yep. She never once made a submission deadline for any issue, but it was always worth the wait.

The Brian fanzine was a bit before my time but remember seeing some old copies. Did Daniel Taylor ever contribute to any fanzine? As obviously he’s gone on to have a good career.

The first fanzine I remember reading was Blooming Forest that a Jon Fisher put together (I think that’s correct).

Rich fisher was Forest forever I think, but has contributed to others (possibly Bandy).
Deano formerly of this parish was a key member of the Bloomin Forest team.

Ah yes that name rings a bell. Someone called Jon used to run the rivals network forest page, I’m sure he had or was involved with a fanzine too.

I don't know him personally but Rich Fisher lives in Radcliffe and our kids are similar ages. My understanding is he still writes about Forest.

Here we go, a blast from the past:

Remember/bought most of those from 90s onwards.

Can’t believe Bandy and Shinty was that long ago (was always nice those landing through the letterbox) and hadn’t realised two fanzines were still going.(well as of 2024).

Just as an aside. In the boxes of my 2000AD collection that tricky liberated from my Mum's house in the great migration, I have a stack of Brian's which I used to buy when I attended the City Ground way back when. Always looked forward to reading them as they made the young me laugh out loud.

Speaking of which I may need help getting my collection to the States as Tricky has contacted me and said that space could be a problem soon.

I will start another thread on this but I am pretty sure I have a fair few of those Brian's lying around up in there attic.

    Chicago: Nostalgic.

Not seen any Trevor Francis for a while tbh, since issue 11 or 12 - although the writer has a third Forest book out next month so that may have curtailed production.
Mist Rolling is still going. At least issue 25 now, probably higher, plus some specials and a couple of kid versions.

I would imagine space for Tricky provided comic book storage may become less of a problem next time he accidentally burns the facilty down, which is probably due about now, if unsubstantiated but widely accepted Talkback lore is to believed.
