Apparently we are tussling with Manchester Citeh for Douglas Luiz. Wonder who will win that one...
(I am guessing it won't be us...)
Chicago: Ambitious but realistic.

Brighton are apparently willing to let Evan Ferguson leave on a permanent transfer. On the one hand he's an exciting prospect, but I can't help wondering why they're willing to let such a promising 20 year old go.
My guess is that he has had a serious injury, (ankle I think) that is difficult to manage so they are are assuming that he might not hit the heights required or it's going to take too long to get him where they want him. So they want to cash in on him whilst his stock is reasonably high.
Hence that is why it appears that we are not interested.
Chicago: Managing expectations.
I think it's because West Ham are going to give them millions of pounds in return.
A desperation premium. I was thinking they might pay it for Taiwo, assuming we bought a striker. Which could have been Ferguson.
Bright-one don't make many missteps in the transfer market. If they are prepared to let EF (of whose attributes I am a big fan) go on a permanent transfer, you would have to conclude that he is likely fundamentally holed below the waterline. I remain in the "show Big 'T' some love" camp.
I agree, although if we somehow negotiated a net zero transfer on that deal then I wouldn't be unhappy.
Preference #1 would be a fit Taiwo though.
Agreed.
I think what I'm saying is that brighton have laid down their hand. They don't think EF will come through....but right now, from so close to him being the next big thing, they are inviting someone to take a high cost gamble.
We don't have to be that club with Big 'T' already on the books (even if the ceiling isn't as high with him as a it would be for a fully functioning EF).
Jhon Duran close to signing for some Saudi bunch, apparently. Are Villa in PSR trouble? Seems bizarre to sell either him or Watkins right now.
Also odd that no-one in Europe would compete for such a player. I guess Villa might not want to sell to a competitor but still. Are Villa in some other kind of trouble?
I think West Ham bid around £60m, which was turned down.
I think it's as simple as he wants to go, and they're only going to accept the largest offer they can get.
"Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran expected to choose Al-Nassr over PSG"
Well, ok then.
Rashford to Villa. Brave signing if they are paying a significant chunk of his wages.

Well yeah, but they’ve just trousered a hell of a lot of wonga for Duran, & if Rashford enables them to re-qualify for Europe and/or do well in the knock-out stages of the CL, he’ll easily cover his wages. If.
Fabrizio Romano says that Cunha has agreed a new four-and-a-half-year contract at Wolves. Release clause can be activated at the end of this season apparently.
