Still possible we could lose Murillo, although I expect that would take a world record for defender. More likely he leaves in the summer but you'd have to suspect we'll need a big sale before the end of June again, so sorting that in January could be helpful.

There’s space in the squad already so why send ward-prowse back? Given the injuries we’ve had in midfield this season it would seem prudent to have as many bodies as possible surely.
Also, he’s been perfectly fine for us apart from one game (when everyone else was shit too) so why the dislike?

Was thinking they might want to clear some space and assuming the space in the squad is notional as they would unretire Hennessey onto the bench if there was goalkeeping problem.

You seem to imply that I favour sterile passing. I do not. However, receiving the ball cleanly and making a good clean pass through the lines to the runner is sometimes a better option than a mid air bicycle kick, back heel nutmeg attempt. Sometimes that shit is the right thing to do and sometimes it fucks up a solid position with better options. The decision making thing appears to be missing still.

MGW isnt integral often enough and certainly not sufficiently effective
Ward Prowse is OK. We have two players who have damn good dead ball delivery. We're in a position to look for better.
Yates is very lovable and will keep having huge value. But he isn't a top end 6 and isnt going to be.

Sterile passing is what you end up with, if you want to keep the percentages high. I like to see playing at pace, and trying to crack the nut, rather than peel it layer by layer. You don't get to wield a hammer, with the precision of a scalpel. It's just not how these things work.

...and of course these things are different for everyone, and all opinions are equally valid. Generally I'm not a fan of spanish dancing. I like blood and thunder football.

Fine but not great. I absolutely wouldnt start him. We have the chance for better

Feels like there’s an attempt in the media to build some jeopardy and a ticking clock around Chris Wood (and Aina, to a lesser extent) being able to sign a pre contract overseas on January 1st.

If someone wants him and wants to pay him enough, he’ll already know about it (or his agent will) and will have decided what it would take from Forest to stay.

Wood allegedly wants £100k pw on a 2 year deal. The club have offered him one year. He’s 33.

I can’t see him still being our number one striker in 2 years time so would stick to my guns if negotiating on behalf of the club.

  • 20 Dec 2024, 8:14 a.m.

I think I'd offer something like £70K for two years, but if he scores 8+ goals each season we'll give him another year on top.

Well if rumours are to be believed, EM is not messing around and trying to get a massive striker in the January window. One who doesn't play in England and isn't Brazilian. He also hasn't been associated with us in the press and it will cost a lot of money. So let's think. Who is expensive and hasn't been mentioned for us. Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus. Linked with Arsenal. Mates with our war horse hero in defence. Ramos at PSG (but has been linked with us in the past so probably not him). Randall Kolo Muani. Massive in Germany but not setting PSG on fire. Probably still very expensive. Also my pick because it's kind of the insane thing that our Chairman would try and pull out of a hat. Victor Osimhen Currently persona Non Gratia at Napoli and in Turkey biding his time. He would be very expensive! Also the rumour is that this bloke is really in demand from Premier League teams so I am guessing either the first or the last and my pick would be Victor. It's insane but it doesn't surprise me.

Personally I think this is nuts but hey ho it's fun to be a Forest fan at the moment until we run into a massive PSR nightmare at the end of the season.

    Chicago: Rumour Monger.

Fuck him he turned us down and he is two bob compared with our transfer targets now.

    Chicago: Getting snobby.

I’m going for Victor for a laugh. We need a new Victor.
