I'd take Rashford off them. He'd be desperate to stick it to the man.

Yeah, for the right wages I would also be tempted. About 6 mates told me I was crazy mind, so I think me and you might be in the minority Jake.

I think if I was in charge of recruitment at Yanited, I'd be looking seriously at MGW. They need two 10s for Amorim's formation, he was a united fan as a kid, proven in the Premier league now, good age and the right attitude.

I'm perhaps being hopeful rather than realistic, but my impression is that they are teetering on the edge of FFP issues. Can they afford the £60m they'd need to spend to get him from us? Honestly that place looks a fucking mess too. I'd steer well clear if I was him.

It's still Manchester United though. Hard to turn down.

And if they can't spend (summer is more likely for Morgan), then Amorim needs to stop this insistence on playing "his" formation.

As the seasons pass, I feel this phrase/line of thinking is becoming less of a thing.

They were still Manchester United in the late 80s, when they hadn’t won the league in 20 years, had been relegated in the interim and the financial differences weren’t nearly as big - just ask Neil Webb and Peter Davenport.

I was watching them being shit last night and wondering when being shit will hit them commercially. If you were a glory hunting British kid or Nigerian, Korean or American soccer fan at the moment, you wouldn't pick them as your Premier League team, would you..?

I have no recollection of United outside the top flight.

Neither do I, but they spent 74-75 in the old second division.

Didn't Dennis Law relegate them with a back heel while playing for City.

I think all those things happened but possibly not all at the same time.

Edit: Largely true Google tells me except United were relegated cos Birmingham won so didn't matter what happened in their game (which I learnt was abandoned after the goal as United fans invaded the pitch hoping the game would be replayed like the Foreet Newcastle cup tie that season. No replay and the result stood).

MGW linked to Liverpool, which would seem tempting to him but a position they would be over-strength. Unless they wanted to send Curtis Jones down with a wheelbarrow of cash to placate us.

Can't see Wood leaving, but I also want his replacement ready to go.

Scouse running scared and trying to unsettle us. We should step up the rivalry and make sure we’re linked to Salah and “Trent”.

Unless he doesn't want to sign, I cannot imagine we haven't been talking to his reps for weeks.

We have been talking to him for three months. I am hoping that his European counterparts haven't offered him anything silly. Hopefully he didn't like the European lifestyle that much. His best mate is Tammy Abraham who coincidentially lives in Italy.

Maybe we can do a cheeky attempt at Tammy for the summer as he seems to be a bit injury prone nowadays but then again so was CHO.

    Chicago: With the skinny.
