Lots of rumours that we are signing Yuri Alberto from Corinthians. Scores oodles of goals but wasn't a massive success at Zenit St. Petersburg. Probably didn't like the cold.

Marmoush still a target but doing so well in the Bundesliga that we probably won't be able to afford him anymore. Liverscum are looking him to replace Mo Salah, To quote David Coots, "The Cunts!".

Chicago: Kicking it all off in November.

PS. I would prefer us to sort out a few contracts before that. .... Aina, Wood , CHO. Possibly Neco.

Eddie Nketiah is probably available for the right fee.

4 goals in 11 appearances is hardly catastrophic. And let’s face it, the transition from Brazil to Northern Russia in December can’t be the easiest

I liked the Mathys Tel rumour but can't imagine he'd leave being Kane's understudy, especially since Harry sounds like a good mentor and isn't young. My ideal striker signing would be a dynamic young player who can't see a path to the first team at his current club.

I guess it depends on how impatient he is.

Lyon going potentially bust (or relegated) presents some January opportunities for us. That Cherki fella is meant to be rather good even if a bit of a knob... (French y'know...)

Maybe EM is buying Lyon on the cheap as he wants another European club. You never know considering Lyon owner wants to buy Ever-gone. Mangala currently doing okay at the Blue Scouse.

Chicago: Updating the real transfer thread.(Did you see what I did Shady?)

Gone a bit quiet hasn't it? Probably reflective of there not being many obvious holes that need fixing. Guess we'll look to loan or sell Omabamidele, as he's totally disappeared from view and it can't be helping his development. Maybe send Ward-Prowse back if we think we can get a better replacement. Wonder whether Newcastle might come back for Elanga now he's a bit down the pecking order.

  • 13 Dec 2024, 12:39 p.m.

If newcastle do come for Elanga because Isak is his mate ten we should ask for Harvey Barnes in return as he is from this area and can score.

Also i find it ironic that Isak could end up at Arsenal so poor old Antony might be stuck without his pal anyway. I think we are definitely going for a forward but I would hope it would be more Marmmmmmoooosh than Yuri Ribeiro as the latter is not that rated by the Copa club peeps and lots around the community. Yes he scores goals but he is essentially the Brazilian version of Jordan Rhodes.

Chicago: Keeping an ear to the ground.

  • 13 Dec 2024, 1:11 p.m.

I've seen Barnes mentioned but we've already got a decent winger who cuts in off the left wing to shoot with his right - do we really want to spend a lump of cash on a similar player who's three years older?

  • 13 Dec 2024, 1:54 p.m.

We really do need that striker. We have been lucky with Woods fitness and it seems there is little to no faith in Awoniyi. Which is a shame. We also need to consider whether Sangarre is going to make it. Because we need a really good 6 on the pitch if we are going to persist with playing 4 forwards.

There's certainly a few to offload. Ward Prowse can go back.

This may seem like heresy. I remain unconvinced by Gibbs White. His inability to choose to do simple things and do them well suggests his ceiling isn't quite as high as some hoped.

  • 13 Dec 2024, 1:56 p.m.

I sort of agree but I think that's why there's a good chance he'll stay here, which is no bad thing. (Lack of goals being the other key factor that is going to make him unattractive to a "bigger" club.)

  • 13 Dec 2024, 1:59 p.m.

Maybe, but his ability to do the hard things, quite quickly, has some value. I would argue this choosing to do the hard things is what can lead to the impactfull moments, and undermine the choices being simple. I, personally, have no appetite for all football becoming sterile passing the ball around, without ever putting it risk. YMMV.

I personally believe MGW is intergral to how we play. He is frustrating no doubt about it but you could argue he has been carrying an injury. Anderson can do his job but no-one else in the squad can. Ward Prowse is probably useful if we played spuds as his set pieces would be handy.

But yes, sangare seems like a waste. So a brilliant 6 would be ace but the again I love Yates so someone to compliment him. Mamooooooosh would be my choice but his value has gone up since the summer when we couldn’t agree a price. I also suspect he might be teed up to replace Salah at the Poo. It’s basically now or never for him
This January. Can we afford it? Not sure. Might be worth a snufty if we can work it..

    Chicago: Feeling ambitious.

  • 13 Dec 2024, 2:12 p.m.

Ward-Prowse was doing well until that red card v Chelsea. Would like him to stay but he’ll probably want first team football somewhere.

  • 13 Dec 2024, 2:25 p.m.

Still possible we could lose Murillo, although I expect that would take a world record for defender. More likely he leaves in the summer but you'd have to suspect we'll need a big sale before the end of June again, so sorting that in January could be helpful.
