When looking at the four linked strikers I actually thought he looked the best option if that’s the type of striker we are going for.

Experienced, will be ‘cheap’ and the short term option we need to get us through this (what will be short) Dyche era.

Much more sensible than spunking £40m on Strand Larsen who is very underwhelming.

Agree. Before we spend £40m on a striker I think we need to be sure he is a good fit for whoever is in charge next season.

I am sad. Gallagher would have been good for us rather than rotting away at Spurs. I could see how he would choose Villa over us but all Tottenham have to offer is London. Big whoop.

As for transfers. No point getting a striker if there is no-one to give him the ball. That is why we seem interested in a midfielder who is not James MacAtwee.

Damn. Looks like I am going to have find some sexy signing alternative. Any young Geddy, Gallagher types hiding anywhere?

IN other news Morato might be leaving to Brazil so we might need a centre back in case Jair or Abbott cannot step up. In the case of Cunha, I think he can.

I think we might have another mental end of window. Wonder if we can get someone who makes a difference like those few years ago when some big hunk of burning love turned up from Athletico and gave us purpose back to our season. Oh sweet Felipe....

    Chicago: Feeling empty.

It's time to bring Keinan Davies home.

Is he still injury prone or have they fixed his dodgy hamstrings?

I would take him if he can stay fit.

Love me a bit of Keinan.

    Chicago: Thumbs up!

He is not. Though one might question whether that's because the Italian league is less demanding. Played 25 games last season for Udinese, and has played 21 already this season.

Because we are desperately short of wingers to lob balls into the box.

We are allegedly renegotiating Luiz's deal as we don't want to trigger the clause to buy him and Juve don't want him back.

If we are driving the price down, that would seem to be something I could get onboard with.

I don't know if it's driving the price down so much as getting rid of the compulsory purchase. Supposedly he wants to go to Vasco and they want him.

Bet you'd all forgotten about Eric De Moreira. He's back after playing 70 minutes for Rio Ave. Not eligible for list b in Europe and he's not getting anywhere near the first team, so assume he'll be sent out somewhere else.

Everton have sent an official bid to Turkish side Fenerbahce for Morocco striker Youssef En-Nesyri, 28. Negotiations are under way for an initial loan move with a £17m option to buy. (Fabrizio Romano). Nottingham Forest are also in the race for En-Nesyri but Fenerbahce's feeling is that he favours a move to Everton. (Florian Plettenberg)
(I did read that he's rejected Forest over Dyche's style of play, but not sure if that was just someone mischief-making).

Elsewhere, Oxford are eyeing a £1m-plus bid for Jamie McDonnell.
(I think we'd be better sending him on loan there to the end of the season (step up from L1 to Championship), giving him a pre-season with the first team and then deciding whether he is worth either a place in the squad, another loan or to cash in. but appreciate I'm slightly less qualified to make such judgements than our coaching team!).

Everton is more of a strikers' graveyard than here. Beto and Barry have done nothing (apart from score against us) since they've been there.
