Hinshelwood seems really unlikely. Are they prepared to sell a 20 yo who's come through their academy? Apart from anything else, it's a bad move if they have European ambitions (which they surely must).
Tsimikis depends on what we make of Cuibiana but he certainly doesn't sound like a Dyche player.
Current squad (brackets is not in the Europa squad):
Abbott is eligible for all games, Aina is currently out of both squads.
Europa league rules seem to say you can add three at the end of the group stage and your squad still has to conform to the same rules, so (unless we sign Brennan), three have to drop out, which I think makes it unlikely there will be much turnover.
I'd be looking to send back Zinchenko, if we can, which allows us to bring Aina in. Doesn't look like Boly is going to play, so take the risk on Abbott as 4th choice centre back and bring in Hutchinson. Then, if Luiz isn't worth the risk, send him back for a January signing (or Cuibiana/Tsimikas).
Brennan on. loan I would certainly be interesting in.
Luiz is a great player. i would keep him even if he can only play 45 minutes. Especially now. I would expect Cuibiano to come in (or whatever his fucking name is).
West Ham are surely going to feel they need to spend some money this January and their recruitment has been shit for a while. So maybe they go for some players their manager is familiar with? Let’s say £100m for Boly and Taiwo…
Yeah, I had a look at who they were being linked with and saw that. And their recruitment in the summer was actually ok (Fernandes, Mangassa, Diouf, Walker Peters).
Strand Laursen makes much more sense for them than us. We’ve already got Jesus and Wood (and Kalimuendo, who I don’t think can play for anyone else this season), are we in a position to spend the kind of money he’d cost on a player who wouldn’t be an automatic first choice? We’re almost certainly already going to need to sell one of our big players before the end of the financial year.
Isnt he more of a Dyche man than a Nuno man? If they offered something stupid - say around £30m, I'd take it. Even if he gets fit, he's backup to Jesus now.
Similar viewpoint here. I'm also concerned that he's long-term crocked. I'm not saying he won't play again, but it might become a regular pattern of injury-play-injury-play.
I do wonder if Wood has rotted. If he's not likely to make it back this season, we need a replacement. The advantage he has over Jesus is he scores premier league goals. We could do with more form a striker. And NDoye will come good. He's played half a season and looked solid at times, he's just out of form right now. Fortunately we have depth and players returning from injury.
No-one got more goals out of him than Nuno. Given his age and injury, I'd accept a lot less than that given Jesus is an upgrade. But we do need another striker even if Kali starts convincing at training.
