That wording is ambiguous. Could be read to mean you can't play in the same UEFA comp in the same season for two different clubs, but you can play in two different competitions. That would make Lucca ok for us, but not Luiz for Villa.

Feel mixed on the Luiz situation. You could see he was a fantastic player, but also was never fit enough to play a run of games. Would he have got fit? Perhaps unlikely so I can see why he moved on. It does have to be said we are very good at moving players on these days.

Wouldn't be surprised if Parish tries to fuck us up by signing Strand Larsen and then stringing us along before flogging Mateta to Spurs just before the window slams shut. So we don't have time to look elsewhere.

You're ascribing a level of calculation and professionalism to a man who has managed to lose his manager while still keeping him, lose his star centre-half for a fraction of his actual value and not replace him despite having had 6 months' notice in which to do so, and get his club removed from the most prestigious competition it has ever qualified for without kicking a ball through a combination of ignorance, hubris and incompetence.
I wouldn't trust Steve Parish to run a bath much less a Premier League football club, and I'm definitely not concerned that he's somehow going to enter into and win a battle of wits with our mob boss.
