Excitingly, because 16 of our opponents are still the same across all three of our previous premier league seasons, I can compare like-for-like across all of them (using our average results against the relegated teams as proxies for the promoted teams).

So, we are running 5 points behind 22-23, 7 points behind 23-24 and, weirdly, only 4 points behind 24-25 (the next 7, unless results improve dramatically, that will go a long way south). Which, basically, shows it's a bunch of nonsense. (Not that that's going to stop me.)

It might be exciting from a stats point of view but less exciting from a competitive one, as its shows up just how much of a closed shop the Premiership has become and how lucky we are to still be here in a fourth season.
