With all that is going on in Chicago and the personal life, football doesn't seem that important at the moment so Bill Shankly can go fuck himself, (I mean it's physically impossible because he doesn't exist anyore but you get what I mean).

Regardless of whom is in charge (with megson being the exception...ugh), I always want Forest to win. I don't hate Ange like some, not that xenophobic I suppose, but he doesn't seem to have an ounce of sense when it comes to tactics, so we have to hope for a Chelsea day off thinking that they have won this already. Murillo should be back and possibly Douglas Luiz which should help. Also if the hairy Kangaroo has done his homework then he will realise that the money dopers of London don't deal well with the long ball over the top. So with Chris having a bit of a hammy we want someone fast? The fastest forward seems to be Kalibueno but he seems to have a touch of the Taiwo's about him. And if I am honest, I would prefer Taiwo but he seems to be under the patio. So this could be a Jesus game.

I have this sense we could actually win this 3-0 because it might click with the Blues having a mare. Of course we don't do clean sheets under Ange so this is more wishful thinking than reality. 3-2, 0-4, 1-6, 7-1?

So either a big win or a massive clattering which results in another upheaval. I go win just because why not more calamity for a while. The object of this is that we need to stay out of the relegation zone. Can we do it? I say yes just to upset the webmongs with the inevitable in sight...

So win and we are happy. Lose and a new manager. It's always darkest before the dawn.

    Chicago: Navigating hurdles.

I can usually rustle up some ludicrous optimism but somehow, it escapes me. We are getting twatted. 3-0

Early kick off. Chances of me getting up at 7am on a Saturday to watch more Ange bullshit seem slim.

I have no xenophobia in my body, but I can't like a football coach who intentionally leaves his team open. It's just not right.

This assumption that people don't like Postecoglu because he's Australian is really fucking weird. We've hated players and managers from all over the world, no one gives a shit where he's from.

I shall not be watching, I expect to return home later that morning to several notifications from grumpy talkbackers… 1-4

I think there are plenty of reasons to dislike Ange, but it's been a bit depressing hearing and seeing comments (not on here especially) that he didn't kiss fan arse sufficiently. I suppose it wouldn't have mattered if he'd actually won some games.
All he had to do, for some, was say "bigger club than Tottenham, in terms of history."

Postecoglou has had a reasonable quorum of players for the last fortnight, despite the international break. This is the moment that "Angeball" clicks.

    1-5.

It's not just because he's Australian but not being from a proper footballing country is definitely a barrier to people taking him seriously.

Tomorrows match has a draw written all over it for me, which will stretch out the Ange saga a bit longer. My view has nothing to do with his nationality, or punching down on lesser footballing nation pedigree. Its rooted in what he does, what he says, what I see on the pitch. None of those things make me think he's the right manager for us. Mistake made, rectify it as soon as we can.

If Palmer, Caceido, Neto and Fernandez are all out and one of their defenders gets sent off again then we might have a chance.
Rather depends on what line up we field, of course.

I was just trying to think of a likeable Aussie to back up your point, but I couldn’t think of any.

  • 17 Oct 2025, 2:35 p.m.

    Steve Cooper is from Wales.

  • 17 Oct 2025, 3:20 p.m.

Steve Cooper was smart and won 4 of his first 5 games. If Postecoglou had copied that strategy he wouldn't be in this mess.

    Kyyyyylie

We don't have many cyborgs (aside from Milenkovic) and we didn't sign Johnnny X the Invisible Striker.

    HTH.
