I’m not catastrophising. I agree that we are way above where I expected or hoped us to be (mid table obscurity). What I’m actually saying that I think there has been far too much hubris about Forest and a dose of realism was overdue. I just prefer it wasn’t a 5-0 lubeless buttfucking from Bournemouth. Hopefully people will become more grounded.

I have repeatedly said that I will be delighted with a top half finish. I don't think anyone's getting madly out of hand. If you are in contention after 3/5th's of the season, it seems to be reasonable to approach discussion without ignoring that fact. It's not like we've been in a relegation battle this season. At all.

    How you doin' doc?

I think most sensible people have been, haven't they? Throughout this whole mad run from the start of the season, I was just willing them to get to 35 points as soon as possible so we could see what they could do playing without the threat of relegation for the first time in two years.

Anything above that is a bonus as far as I'm concerned - top-half finish of any kind would be outstanding.

We have to disagree….I think plenty of people are getting madly out of hand….Champions League, Europe. All that shit.

    I’m fine thanks. I don’t like losing 5-0 though.

Europe is hardly madly out of hand. Opta gives us a 53% chance.

Still think 6th is best likely and most likely outcome.

From here those things are possible. As is competing for the very title itself.

I happen to think that points will be a lot harder for us to come by from here. Teams are forewarned and forearmed, and we won't play to the standards that established us as legitimate top of the table competitors..... Not because we can't, but because teams without the experience of competing for prizes* tend not to. It will be interesting to see what moves the owner makes in the transfer windows, to see if there is a perception that an opportunity exists. It will also be interesting to see if the current coach ultimately survives that process. It's not the fans we need to be most worried about.

All sorts of interesting, a range of possible outcomes. I don't think one (heavy) defeat changes those things. Nor do I think we've suddenly become a bad side. Unless we have a run like chelski that starts to point to that.

This is football jeopardy free, and opportunity rich. Sure don't get ahead of ourselves, and let's not criticise coaching whose success and elevated expectation risks becoming a stick to beat them with. But equally don't get too tense about it. It might be a once in a quarter of a century high.

I would be against getting angry at 'words', and consider context and nuance in their deployment to expose the subtleties of meaning. For me it's a legitimate discussion to say that we could be champions, most probably won't, and I'd take anything top half as exceptional progress. YMMV.

    * By prizes I mean a qualifying placing, more than a trophy per se.

    I was 'somewhat' irritated.
    Partly by the result.
    Partly by the score.
Partly by the Fantasy Football implications for Sels and Murillo.
Partly because I was irritated +3 at kick off.

Mrs Rave arrived home at 2.25 - having popped out to do a bit of shopping and to 'look' at a new fish tank - with a new fish tank. She decided to swap it over there and then. My plan to watch Bayern on the laptop (labouring to a 2-1 away win at Freiburg featuring Kane's first non-penalty goal since November) accompanied by Saturday Soccer from 3pm was somewhat scuppered as I obviously had to help with cat juggling, fetching bit and pieces, dealing with the packaging and mopping up water spillages. We managed to finish - without any piscatorial passing - just in time for Forest's second half collapse.
Later my enjoyment of Citeh v Chelsea was interrupted with the news that the kitchen sink was backing up. After a few token goes with the plunger I bailed out the sink water, emptied the cupboard under the sink, removed the u-bend and was astonished at the dozens of aquarium stones that poured out into the washing up bowl I had tactically positioned. It transpired that having mostly scooped the water out from the outgoing tank Mrs Rave had tipped the rest down the sink without decanting the stones first (can stones be decanted?).
Anyway. Belgian Tripel Karmeliet, Portuguese Red and Mrs Rave's home made tapas have been onboarded (is that a word?) and irritation is now -5.
I won't be watching Match Of The Day.

I think Jota was the weak link today. Mardy. Stupid. Picking fights. Not winning the ball. We panicked whilst losing. This was not our game. They picked us apart on the break and long ball and we didn’t keep our composure.

All in all dreadful compared to our normal standard this season. Our midfield was porous and taking Yates out was a mistake. Not having Taiwo on for Jota much earlier too. Or even Sosa. Also what the merry fuck were the subs doing on the field picking fights? All in all a very undisciplined, terrible performance which was exemplified by the behaviour of the subs.

The third goal basically was lazy. Both defenders letting the Striker get the ball and after an Mis-kick still scoring.

Beaten by pace and ill discipline. Bournemouth on the other hand were very good even though we didn’t help ourselves.

    That Kluivert is some player.

Anyway, we aren’t getting relegated. I am a bit sad that muff might catch us up.

It would be nice to get it back against against Brighton next week.

Maybe by then we have a few more options up front. And please not Jota who was utterly toss.

    Chicago: A bit sad.
