Think I'd go for something like this:

                       Victor
    Savona Milenkovic Abbott Morato
              McAtee Yates
          NDoye CHO
                  Kalimuendo

However this may not be strong enough to win the game, which we really need to do.

Neither Cunha or Hutchinson are in the Europa squad though.

Oh ffs you are correct. I'll edit above ....

I wonder if we'll play a stronger team than that, at least initially. We can't really afford to drop points on Thursday if we want to qualify for the next stage without the added drain of a play off game.

In an ideal world, we get a few decent results in the league between now and January so we can focus team selections more on the Europa games without fear of relegation. The Europa is our only decent shot at doing something amazing this year, bar the FA Cup, and might be easier of the two to win. It'd be a shame to chuck it away at this stage.

It's a difficult one, for sure. Putting six points on the board in the Premier League in the past two fixtures has made a huge difference, but we're obviously far from out of the woods there. There are winnable games coming up and I'd really like us to be sitting on 20-plus points by the time we face Manchester City on December 27.

To that end, I'd not be averse to starting Anderson, Gibbs-White, and maybe one of the two centre-halves on the bench on Thursday night. I'd be interested to see what McAtee could do in the Gibbs-White role, while Yatesey could swap in for the Geordie Maradona (who's played a lot of football already this season for saying we're still in November).

An injury to Neco Williams worries me but we don't have a readymade replacement there to rest him, unless we go with Morato (presuming he's in the EL squad?). Zach Abbott could perhaps get a run at CB against Malmö.

Are we that confident, we are happy to let them have one more player than us?
    And Morato at left back?

    Like a reverse Psycho.

I wish we had Taiwo in the squad then we could do this:

    Victor
    Savona Milenkovic Abbott Morato
    Yates
    NDoye McAtee CHO
    Taiwo Kalimuendo

Wonder if Wood could make a comeback. I might give Jesus and Kalimuendo a go together if not.

...this is well covered in amateur football. You start the match with nine or ten players, given that those are the only ones that you can get out of bed in time for kick off. The rest just join in when they get there.

Would have been lovely if we do a tribute to the 1979 team. But I guess not. Missed opportunity I feel.

I think we will see some rotation. Obviously we want to protect Savona, Neco and Anderson. This though is a problem as the the first two seem to be our only working full backs.

Luiz, Bakwa , Wood and CHO have been training.

I think CHO and Bawka (if fit) will be the wingers. McAtee in the MGW role and we will see Kalimuendo play probably because we are going to need Jesus at the woolly Wolves bastards.

Abbott may play right back but it does leave us with overworking Neco. Unless we go three at the back with the serbinator, Morato and Abbott.

I doubt we will drop our full backs though.

So I am guessing. Victor, Savona (or Abbott) Milenkovich, Morato, Neco. Midfield, Yates, Luiz, Sangare. Bakwa, CHO, McAtee with Kalibueno (As in that is my nickname for him because he isn't Bueno at the moment). If Zinchenko was fit (which he isn't) I would play him in this game even though he is rubbish playing defence in the Prem.

Bench. Ando, MGW, Jesus, Dom, N'doye, Wood?

    Chicago: Positive.

I thought they had invited all players from both sides that played in that match

  • 25 Nov 2025, 1:42 p.m.

I would guess we will keep the same shape. Perhaps something like

    John

    Abbott - Milenkovich - Morato - Williams

    Sangare - Yates

    N'Doye - McAtee - CHO

    Wood

I don't see how we rest Williams right now.
He will want to bring in some "new" blood but still have some up to speed players around them.
If Bakwa is properly fit then he maybe starts ahead of N'Doye as he is currently higher up the pecking order than CHO
And fuck knows if Wood is dead or fit. Dead, then KinderBueno starts.

Any of the Youth for the bench?

  • 25 Nov 2025, 1:43 p.m.

1995 Forest v Malmo is sad.

    I'll go for a fairly mundane 2-0.

  • 25 Nov 2025, 1:44 p.m.

    Pretty sure that's the case.

Seems to me the players who need rotation are Williams, Anderson and Ndoye as they've started most of our games and play most internationals. Can only think Morato at left back, which is less than ideal.

  • 25 Nov 2025, 2:05 p.m.

Morato isnt playing full back. Dyche isn’t stupid.

Unless it’s a three. Which it probably won’t be.

    Chicago: Tactical genius.

  • 25 Nov 2025, 2:13 p.m.

I think unfortunately we need Morato to play full-back. Williams desperately needs a rest.

  • 25 Nov 2025, 2:47 p.m.

Can't see Dyche doing it but a three of Abbott, Boly, Morato isn't the worst on paper.
