See also: Trent Alexander-Arnold referred to, almost exclusively by the media, by his first name. No idea why this is the case.

The Trent thing is weird because quite a few, including our glorious leader and TGLE Psycho, call him "Trent Alexander". Unless I'm missing something, that's his first name and half of his surname. So weird.

It is almost endlessly fascinating how people get exercised about labels.

'Guardiola' is hard. 'Pep' is easy. It's disrespectful to not use someones preferred label, you might say. It's disrespectful to insist on a label that confuses people, and inhibits communication and promotes groupspeak, you might also say.

... and round and round it goes.

It's not disrespectful, unless it's rooted in malintent. 'But it's my label' - just get over yourself, it isn't. We gurgle noises to communicate, you can always find something to get upset about in regard to that if you want. If your expectation is that the whole world learns to gurgle to your convenience, and at cost to them, you are going to be constantly disappointed.

I would advise concentrating on important stuff. Communicating meaning, with intent. Preferably doing it with tolerance. Rather than insisting that others innovate in regard to language, but retard themselves over labels, exclusively for your convenience.

The whole construct is a massive crock of shit, with no good outcome.

    Call me what you want.

Yeah. I still think the Man City manager is a massive fucking bellend though.

FWIW Nuno has been renting my mates flat in the lace market ( seriously big luxurious place ) but is leaving at the end of June.

Maybe just buying his own place but.....

Lots for an out of work coach to learn from watching a Pep team.

But meanwhile, on the debate about whether Josep Guardiola Sala is a genius or a bellend or, indeed, both. Did anybody ever consider that he's only ever managed Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Man City in eras when they had by far the best playing and other resources in their league (and in the case of Barca possibly the best player of all time). He has done that well (although not without any blips) but it's nothing like as hard as managing, say, Nottingham Forest.

He's an exceptional coach all the same. Doesn't stop him being a bell end too though, in fact probably becomes inevitable after this long.
