Beheady Howe’s boys still have nightmares about Elanga. Awoniyi will give them PTSD.
3-1 to the red mafia.
Assume Montiel will be out, Gibbs-White seemed to run off whatever his problem was, so feels like Sels, Williams, Murillo, Tavares, Domingez, MGW, Elanga and Awoniyi are definite starters with Niakhate or Omobamidele for the second central defender and between Yates, Danilo, Reyna and CHO for two midfield positions. Guess at Niakhate, Yates and CHO.
Or he could do what he did last night and go 3-4-3 again which I think is how he often set them up at Wolves?
Whatever he does, I really hope he doesn't pick Montiel. Danilo looks off the pace to me right now so he'd be out too.
Newcastle will be gunning for us, and given that caps lock thread titles only ever seem to eek out a draw at best, I'll go for an optimistic 1-1.
Pace makes Dan Burn cry. And hopefully Elanga is approaching fitness now. He only went 3-4-3 because he had to. Normal service and a 2-1 victory I think
Sadly, I think it'll be Livramento at left back.
Guardian's weekend preview has highlighted Sels getting bounced out of Newastle for being (even) worse than Karl Darlow. If it was the other way round, we'd fully expect a man of the match performance, including three saved penalties and a last minute winner.
You mean, like Chris Wood returning to score a hattrick for example?
Even worse than Karl Darrow is better than Turner or Odi. In fact I remember Darlow did just fine there for a while.
My first game since we beat Man Utd 2-1.
I have the same pre match routine of train arriving just before midday, 6 pints in the city before making way to the WFCG.
So it can only be another 2-1 to the mighty reds.
First home game I've missed since some time early in the promotion season.
Hard to call what kind of omen that might be, I'd imagine it will be our best performance or the season.
Isak out. Gordon out.
Which is nice.
I hope Dan Burn is fit.
Montiel out (as I assumed up there) but I think Neco has been playing pretty well recently and I probably prefer him. Aina back next week anyway.
Every cloud
That is optimal.
Let's hope Origi has his shooting boots on.
Chicago: Channeling the ghost of Chris Wood.
