I think it's probably tweaks rather than upheavals. The set piece problem is mainly coaching, and also not giving so many of them away. I'd also like to think that Sangare will help provide protection and a better outlet ball than Dominguez and Yates, but I don't have evidence that he will other than at 30M he bloody should.

I didn’t think he was good at all. Very inconsistent at allowing play to go on.

Jamie Ward Prowse next week. Doubt the coaching will fix anything by then. So we'll be 21 from 25 needing about 20 from 13.

Think he let most things go and allowed the game to be physical and was consistent in that. The Awoniyi one was a pen for me but thems the breaks.

Replace Murillo with Boly. We all love the beefy Brazilian but Boly is a heading machine.

Really flat after that today. We should have won, even with the soft goals we let in. Awoniyi is in one of those phases where he looks like a competition winner rather than.a footballer though. Thought Dominguez and CHO played well. I'm happy to admit I was wrong about him.

I thought the ref gave slightly more contact 50 / 50s against us. Slightly. The worst call was midway through the 1st half when Taiwo spun the defender, got raked from behind, stayed down for a minute or two and the ref gave nothing. Maybe it's easy to give free kicks against us when Yates is constantly shoving opponents over from behind. I'm normally ambivalent towards Yates - not a dreadful player, but always a 6/10 few positive contributions player. I wish he was a bit better at something. Anything. But he pissed me off today with his constant fouling. If we can't defend free kicks lets try not giving away free kicks.
But we still gave them 3 goals and missed chances.
I was thrilled we got promoted. I was delighted we stayed up last season. Unexpectedly I find myself shrugging my shoulders about the prospect of relegation. My Premiershipleague enthusiasm is expiring rapidly. VAR doesn't help. Refs don't help. Media bias wankfests don't help. Opening the Majestic Wine delivery hasn't helped. Bayern's Tuchelball getting spanked 3-0 at Leverkusen hasn't helped. Sorry.

Out of interest how many assists has James WP made from set pieces since we lost to them 3-2?

Apparently Shearer on MOTD thought it was a penalty. Obviously he was just being magnanimous in victory because he's well known for that.

Don't worry, I'll be going to bed shortly.

My thoughts on Boly are well known, but he might well be part of the immediate answer to the set piece problem.

    Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!!!!!

Lost to a cock up again!

    We cannot get a break

We were good today. Newcastle didn’t deserve to win that. Although if Taiwo had managed to finish that possible penalty chance we would have won on. As fine margins go this is killing us. This is the sixth (six!) game we have lost 3-2.

    Winnable game. Lost.

This is trouble. Dave Rave fuck yourself. I need Forest to stay in the premier league so I can watch them. We just need to twat someone.

Wet Sham next week will do.

Fcukity fuck fuck. Thought we had a chance today. Alas mistakes have doomed us again.

    Chicago: Sad and drunk

Next season, Murillo and Niakhate. Right now? Niakhate and Boly for me.
    And no more Tavares.

Neither will be with us next season.

I thought we were broadly OK but the manner of the Toon goals is a real concern. They're the sort teams concede when they're going down, and the potential points deduction makes the situation fairly grim. Lots of work to be done.

Fair few positives too but we're nowhere near good enough to gift-wrap goals to the opposition in that way.
