We're in the title race, whether we can believe it or not. The table doesn't lie. But Liverpool and much better than everyone else so we won't win it. We're going to get a champions league place though which many people had said would never happen again.

Spurs were shit, as I said. How many saves did Sels need to make?

Why would we need more possession? We play devastating, effective football often enough in games to win them.

And whoever said that game wasn't entertaining is wrong.

Sels made three amazing saves. Two from Brennan and I was certain he was going to score when he brought the ball down in the box and hoodwinked Murillo. Sels wasn’t sleepy and threw his big frame forward to make the save.

Spuds were devoid of confidence but still could easily have scored a few.

    Chicago: Happy for Matt.

Yates out with a suspension. Almost made it to the New Year.

Definitely? Thought Brentford was the cut off?

He was excellent today considering the early yellow.

2 or 3 of our breaks were a joy to witness. MGW is a special player when he's on it like today.

Answering my own question, yes Ayew just got a 5th booking and the tv said he'll miss a game.

A word for Elanga's finish. That prod with his left when everyone was expecting him to shoot with his right was genius.

It was, and the weight on the pass from Gibbs-White is, again, inch-perfect. I can't remember seeing too many players with his natural ability at Forest in the - checks notes - 36 years of following the club. He's special.

I can imagine a few other players that could play that pass. Reidy for one. Maybe Gemmill. But whilst running at that pace? Not sure I can think of a single one.

Oh I fancy a moan. Some of our attacking decision making was piss poor. So often a player making a run to break the lines and the pass not made. Elanga bursting through the center and I think MGW passing the way he wasnt running. Wood making bad choices with use of the ball. Our defence won that match when we should have destroyed Spuds. And Elanga was MOTM. Terrorised them. So there.

We have the best side & are getting the best results we’ve had for c.30 years, & you’re still moaning? Give your head a wobble, FFS.

There was an old git who used to sit near us in B block in the 77-80 period who never missed an opportunity to complain when John Robertson tried something that didn’t quite come off. Was he your Grandfather?

Saw a picture of Djed’s mum with a half-and-half scarf, which might just be the only acceptable instance of one being worn.

Djed's mum is like the ultimate ex-girlfriend. No longer with us, but there's no bitterness. Only the hope that she finds happiness in whatever she does. Because of what she gave us.

Not sure about wearing half and half scarves though.

Just remember, grumbling at imperfections can lead to hubris, which leads to Curbishley and Charlton Athletic, which leads to relegation. Let's not do that again.

That’s the one thing about Djed which stood out for me. The smile had gone.
He just didn’t seem to be enjoying it out there compared with when he was wearing the Garibaldi.
