New house has three stories. The Openreach connection is on the ground floor and I expect to be using a lot of internet from the third floor where people are less likely to spot me wanking like a chimp. A few of you have discussed running your network through the electrics.

If I get one of these, will it do that? Amazon Link to TP Link thingy

I'm guessing connect by ethernet from router to one plug thingy, let the electrics do their magic, then ethernet out the other side via another plug thingy to porn display machine work computer. And maybe it would extend the WiFi too?

I have an identical issue. But I solved it by getting a better wireless router, rather than using the one provided by Vodafone. This one specifically.

    TP-Link AC1200 Dual-Band Gigabit Wi-Fi Router, Wi-Fi Speed up to 1200 Mbps, 4×Gbps LAN Ports, Advanced security with WPA3, with MU-MIMO, No configure required (Archer C64) - Black amzn.eu/d/4W3zugH

No, not unless you get a second router at the other end (plus some fiddling with subnet & DCHP settings).

If you need to extend wifi rather than wired then maybe better off looking at a mesh system.

You can plug an access point into the wired extension and it will extend WiFi. In access point mode the main router will still do all the stuff you mention.

BT wholehome mesh system. Worked wonders in our house. All the dark spots covered now.

Thanks, I could have sworn the consensus was to wire things up, but it seems wireless is the way to go.

Fucksake. No it's not. Always wire. Unless you can't.
