Fair enough, I can accept that it's strategic rather than a mistake on the player's part. I still don't love the tactic though, because it seems like it's going to get good goals that would have happened anyway ruled out (like on Wednesday) at least as often as it's going to to create situations in which a goal is scored that the keeper would otherwise have prevented. I don't think there's a net gain from it.

Explain to me how Savona's slightly mistimed tackled was a yellow, but a full shoulder charge in the back during a dead ball isn't worthy of anything.

That's blatantly incorrect if that's what they said, VAR absolutely can get involved. But they can only alert the ref to a potential red card incident, which they have decided it wasn't.

Which begs the question, how much completely intentional contact are you allowed while the ball is dead before it elevates to the level of a potential red card?

Sangare has reverted to his default speed of play and thought, which is about a third that of everyone else.

I think he might be a useful squad player for certain games, but the likes of Everton away definitely isn't it. Dominguez must be quite annoyed watching this.
