At the very least, if it had been the yellow it clearly deserved as a minimum then Tarkowski wouldn't have been able to take the professional yellow in the second half for stopping Anderson on a breakaway.

That's true but I prefer to rage against the existence of VAR and how it's used with the set parameters.
There's little point complaining that that set of officials didn't do things they aren't allowed to (which is probably why it wasn't referred to the referee - it would have made everyone look ridiculous if they'd called him over, he'd watched it and then decided it was a booking he wasn't allowed to give).
Babelfish says: "The whole thing is a crock of shit, not designed to do what it says on the tin".
I guess the counter to it being a red is that similar things happen at pretty much every corner with the ball dead, and it rarely results in anything more than a talking to.
There's a bit of mutual grappling, sure. But i don't think you'll find many instances of people being shoulder charged in their back.
Potayto potahto. We've already established that some contact at dead ball situations is permitted, now we're just negotiating where the line is.
I get why nothing happened. The referee didn't see it. VAR decided it was a yellow (I actually agree) and therefore couldn't get involved. I don't think we want VAR interrupting play for yellow cards to be issued. So on those lines there's no answer I can logically arrive at really other than the referee and linesman should be less shit and notice it in the first instance.
It was an unprovoked attack. (Actually he had alreadly lost his head).... It was never a yellow.
Way worse than grappling at Corners. N'Doye had his back to him and he ran forcefully through him. VAR can fuck off if they think that is acceptable.
Anyway,, gobshite bollocks. we have them again at the end of December. I hope we come ready with what they will try.
Chicago: Seeing red.
You just know at City Ground ref will send one of ours off for brushing against the back of someone.
The Everton guy got a straight red for altercation with his own player the other week. For me a shoulder charge in the back is worse.
