I was thinking who we’d still have here and I imagine we’d be able to shift most of them on, even the likes of Bakwa we’d probably get a decent fee for.
Given that we likely lose the spine of our side in the summer, and as a result have a lot of money to try to rebuild the squad, it's completely reassuring to think we have at least two super agents on the books with their own agendas, because the more different voices we have overseeing recruitment the better it always goes.
(Realistically, imagine a manager who could chose between Forest and Palace in the summer - how much more would we have to pay for the greater career risk? 10%? 50%?)
Think Taiwo will be out of contract. Reckon we could keep Neco for a year, he’d only get a promoted side (although I think he’s better than that). Add Netz to the list. Maybe Jota will stay, he’d be decent enough in the championship.
I'm quite looking forward to seeing Taiwo at his level trying to tear up Championship defences, flanked by Jota Silva and a shiny new winger, Yates in the middle with a couple of sexy new signings, Savona and Netz as full backs, Abbot learning his trade alongside Morato at centre back with Gunn in goal.
Omar Richards might even get a game.
I just wonder whether they'll be able to manage competing on two fronts, with Champions League fixtures impacting our chances of avoiding a second consecutive relegation.
By my reckoning, that means that at the end of March, we'll have played one home game at 3pm on a Saturday (v ManU, of all teams). If Villa or us make the quarters of the Europa league, that'll be the game on the 11th April moved. If we do, also the Burnley game on the 18th. If we make the semis, that's Newcastle on the 9th May and one game in the whole season played at the supposed default time and day - either way, it looks like a maximum of three.
Already arranged for her to come to ours for the day and go for lunch. I mean she might be up for it. But I'd have to pay for the ticket ... and for Little Miss Shady too ... it adds up!
