Matthew Bondswell turned down a deal with us at 16 and left to join Leipzig. He was highly rated along with Alex Mighton. After a couple of years in Germany he signed for Newcastle at 18 and was released last year.
He’s just signed a contract until the end of the season at Peterborough Sports.

Yes, and the other manager is Michael Gash. He is good friends with an old colleague of mine and we ended up on a stag do together. He was quite boring but he’d peaked a few years earlier whilst playing for York City when a night out ended up with a near prison stint for an affray.
