    EFL Trophy: www.efl.com/news/2023/june/efl-trophy-groups-and-draw-numbers-confirmed/

They've drawn the lower league clubs' groups and our under 21s go into one of the Northern groups. G would be the most interesting, with Notts and Derby.

I reckon Wolves will be in there. Fester in H with Burton, Donny and Stags.
My money is on us in F, with Bradford, Barnsleh and Grimsby.

It is weird not seeing us in the list of balls for the Caribou Cup R1 though.

Why don't they draw the U21 clubs at the same time as the other teams?

Is it just to give the proper clubs ample time to reflect on how humiliating it is for them to have our kids join them in the competition?

How will Leicester be in it? I thought you had to finish top 16.

Brentford don’t have an academy, Bournemouths is category 2.

It's a random draw after all.
Forest U21, Carlisle, Accrington and Harrogate.

Not directly Forest, but this will severely hamper Forest Women's hopes of repeating this year's title success.
Next year, it offers automatic promotion as well, AIUI, rather than the play-off like this year, which Forest lost.

I don't really follow the women's game much, but round where I live, the implications of Leicester pulling support for the girls academy teams has been huge. A few of my daughter's mates are now trialing with forest, derby, wba etc because Leicester have just pulled the plug on all girls academy teams.

I'm sort of hoping marinakis makes an offer on Seagrave. Noises out of Leicester suggest it's becoming a huge burden. Just for my entertainment even if it makes no business sense.

That seems incredibly unlikely. The reputation / kudos loss would be huge to Leicester.

Regarding a huge burden ... In what way? They not bringing through the kids they are hoping for and it's not paying for itself? Those things take time?

There was suggestion when they got relegated they may be looking for someone to share the training ground (Percy or Athletic). Not really sure who though.

They were still running the old training ground and the women were based there but they are now off the Seagrave and that is being sold.

Other articles I’ve read suggest the place is too big and impersonal and played its part in their relegation. Which is nice.

That's a real shame because that side really needs to go up next season. The development of the women's team has had a nice consistency to it, largely because it is led by people who know the game, so they have evolved rather than chucking out the old and just buying in new. Will be interesting to see how they respond as Ross Wilson had responsibility for the women's team at Rangers as part of his role there and seems to have oversight of all football here.

    Quoted message:

Forest has a proud long-standing history with adidas having had the iconic three stripes on its shirt when the Club won back-to-back European Cups in 1979 and 1980 during a nine-year partnership from 1977. adidas were also Forest's official kit manufacturers between 2013 and 2018, when we were fucking shit.

    Surprisingly honest.

Does this count as Forest news if he's only notionally a Forest player and has probably never actually been in the country, let alone the city or the training ground? koreajoongangdaily.joins.com/2023/06/27/sports/football/Hwang-Uijo-FC-Seoul-Scandal/20230627170637629.html

The transfer market is getting going now, although quiet on the Forest front.

Maybe they are finalising the membership details (due mid June) before signing anyone.

Maybe they've signed people, but not announced them yet? There seems to be a suggestion that the Henderson deal is done. It's also possible that in action depends to some degree on out action.
