Stamenic is on the bench with Biancone, and Carmo is playing for Oly v Rangers. Kieran Dowell on the bench for Rangers. I thought he might have had a bit more about him than that at 27.

Once you’ve scored a hat trick at Hull, it’s inevitably downhill all the way.

I was a little diappointed his Wikipedia profile has a Norwich shirt rather than a Forest one. I was kinda used to seeing these near-miss players having us as their career high.

I don't think the current ffp rules are right but allowing unlimited spend seems bad for at least two reasons, firstly there have been plenty of owners who've got their clubs into massive financial problems, also would run the risk if turning the league into a Saudi v Abu Dhabi play off.

Also not sure Brennan is the right personification of the issue. I think the move has been good for him and good for us (CHO+Elanga+£30m is a great price). You need some turnover in your squad.

Agree with this and the same thing struck me reading the article. It was understood (I think) at the time that Johnson was keen to leave and the final price agreed with Spurs was a deal that, on the face of it, appeared to suit all parties. This was especially so from Forest's end in terms of how they reinvested that money in the squad.

It's always a shame to lose a homegrown player who has achieved so much in a small space of time, but few fans could credibly argue with the way things have panned out - notwithstanding the fact holding out for more money directly led to a points deduction. Could have gone the other way obviously but, with the aid of two years' experience at the level, we're a far better side than the PL one he was such a big part of.

Yeah, it felt very much like it was written by a bitter Geordie happy to ignore human rights abuses because they thought their team would be winning trophy after trophy, only for their dreams to be scuppered due to financial legislation.
The rules aren't perfect, but if they stop another Portsmouth/Bolton/Rangers (or Aldershot, Macclesfield, Telford, Maidstone) that has to be a good thing.
For everyone whinging and whining about the big six being protected and the European Super League/expanded Champions League making domestic leagues even less balanced - let's not forget that's what the EPL was created for in the first place.
It was all down to the bindippers not wanting to share their superior income with other clubs and secure their dominance. Bad news for them is ManUre were coming good and much quicker to realise that increased matchday revenue meant more spending power.
(And no surprise its bindippers who were then leading the calls to be able to sell their own TV rights as well, given their global appeal compared with most other top-flight teams, and were then a key driver of the (currently stalled) European Super League).
The laughable thing is that while managers like Pep and Klopp complain about too many games, their boards are pushing for more European games and agreeing lucrative overseas trips (odds on Forest heading to USA next summer must be pretty short now).

And it was a Chelsea save against us that won save of the month.
