One domestic, one offshore, no? Not that it makes it any less grubby.

    Yes.

Kayain doesn’t operate in the UK so it wouldn’t be much good being the clubs betting partner.

There's still talk of Newcastle wanting Elanga, so maybe Sosa makes that possible. I really like Elanga but if it's a big profit I'm willing to trust to our South American scouting.

Hmmm. I didn't know that was a thing. But yes. We are looking a bit heavy on wingers now aren't we. Maybe this was part of the "deal" that involved Anderson and them overpaying for Vlach.

Given the fluctuations in form and fitness last year, I'm glad we've got cover on both wings and for MGW. Not especially keen to sell anyone. Unless silly money.

I agree. The much-vaunted “Brighton model” features buying replacements for your likely sales well in advance, giving them time to adapt to UK / language / etc before being called upon much. According to Tails’ piece in the Athletic, Sosa’s first language is Guarneri, with even his Spanish being relatively limited - not even Elanga will speak indigenous Paraguayan languages that fluently! So it’s likely to take him time to adapt fully.

If CHO has a season anything like last time, he’s going to be in demand next Summer (or January); Elanga likewise. Sosa & Jota are at least plausible replacements - plus they give us options in the event of injury, suspension, and so on.

Once you strip out the players we are looking to move on, like Dennis, Hwang, Bowler and, sadly, Worrall. I make our current 25 man squad still only 22 strong. So it clearly isn’t the case that signings mean first team players are going.

Now, if we sign another 7 or 8 in the last 24 hours of the window again, that changes the calculation a bit.

I don't think we will lose MGW until next year. Elanga and MGW I'm not so sure about, but on balance probably they will stay for a bit longer too.

    Good MGW theory.

    Soz meant Murillo.

My Intel on MGW is Nuno and the Greek's think he's indispensable to everything we do creatively and that if we lost him we'd be much worse, which on the evidence of the last two years we cannot afford to be. We signed Reyna to try and address that, but it didn't; we've signed Anderson to see if that helps but time is yet to tell. The other Intel is that MGW is under no rush to leave the club, and feels he's developing well at a club where he's the main man. The club and player exit strategy on that one is become so good that we will be able to sell for a significant profit in a year or two to a top 4 team who will play him as first choice, and this occurs after either international recognition or adding goals to his game.

So, Trent Bridge has a four day test against Zimbabwe next May. Starts on 22nd, finishes on the 25th. Forest's last game of the season is at home to Chelsea on 25th May.

That's a major fuck up by someone isn't it? Don't expect TB to be full and the game might not even go to a fourth day (but you'd expect it to) but it's going to be an interesting test of how the WB infrastructure (parking, drinking, eating etc) will stand up if Forest ever extend the City Ground.

Surprised the police and local council/residents are happy with that.

Any season card holders had an email about Newcastle cup tickets? I haven't. Just checked the site and we apparently had 48 hours to secure our seats, which expired this afternoon.

I don't think I got an email. I saw it online and started a thread on here.

Loads of tickets available, presumably because season card holders aren't aware they're on sale. Bit of a cock up by the club?

No email, saw it on website.

No cock up, they can sell out games without even telling anyone these days...
