The modern top flight football club prospers more from football tourists, than traditional supporters.

You are dropping your circa 500 notes a year for a season ticket, and me and two Irish lads are doing £200 for tickets, a meal, and three hours around the game buying drinks and extras. The club will take more out of us in a game, then they will from a 'proper fan' in a year.

Football 'aint what it was, and it's not about ordinary fans any more. It's the 'ship, and they are just mugging you off.

If they ticketed the event people would just be whining that they couldn't get tickets and that Forest's ticketing systems are unfair and blah blah blah.

I have far more sympathy with the complaint that they've stopped players signing outside the players' entrance, I'm sure there are some kind of safety / security concerns behind it but it seems a bit OTT.

To your ticketing point, yes but still think that would be better and if you did an event say monthly people wouldn't whine too much as they'd know there's another one soon. Make those season ticket hold rs/members who have had tickets ineligible for the next few events and everyone would soon have had a turn.

I don't think it's difficult to do it better than Forest are. Not perfect but better.

And to Tricky, agree with you, but, as you know when we are in the Champ next year and maybe League 1 the year after there's not so many tourist fans.

This thinking is for losers. Look at the spreadsheet, and think about the mitigation and all of those lovely legal fees.

Big Daniel Taylor piece in the athletic on stadium plans. Seems to be designed to put pressure on the council to extend the lease.

Also announcement "in the coming weeks" on a new training ground.

Also crates only add 360, so still under 30k.

I think a few ruined it for everyone as they were just getting signatures to sell items at big prices.

I remember going to an open day many years ago and it was brisk but not silly busy. We are clearly just too massive for that kind of thing now.

Really? I know that’s why ManU don’t allow that kind of thing but which of our players signatures are making significant money?

Don't scoff, on ebay a vacuum cleaner signed with a sharpie by Matt Turner might go for 7, 8, even 9 pounds. If it's a Miele and comes with a working plug could be as much as double that. Mate of a mate's brother's mate's cousin's wife's chiropodist made a tidy sum on a mini blender signed by Chris Wood. This is premier league memorabilia.

Someone’s got to write those letters to Howard Webb.

Rumours are Everton getting 2 points back. If that is the case I may have to revise up my guess as to our points deduction.

Everton have been found in breach numerous times. How on Earth are they getting a reprieve? This whole thing stinks.

Hopefully they go broke... That'll learn 'em.

I think he's wrong about "we're serious about promotion". It wasn't in league 1, it was in the summer of 2004 after the Kinnear inspired revival that kept us up the previous season. To be fair, we did exit the championship that season...
