Yes, but the debate is surely has Cooper reached that point? Most of the time, it's a couple of years, but is that optimal? Are owners doing something at the moment of panic, rather than being seen to do nothing?

I don't want to see us get relegated. Do I see sacking Cooper as increasing our chances of not getting relegated? No, I'm not sure I do.

Did Southampton sack Hasenhuttl too soon or not soon enough?

That's a fair position. I can honestly fall on either side of the argument right now, but I am desperate to see some kind of evidence of progress because through the first third of this season it feels like we've actually regressed from last year.

I think Southampton's issue was less about when they sacked Hassenhutl, and more to do with who they replaced him with.

Yes, I guess this is why I find these debates so pointless. "Sack Cooper" is a dumb position to hold because it assumes any replacement will be an improvement. "Replace Cooper with Silva/Lopetegui/Gerrard" is at least a point for debate.

In a statement by Olympiacos, the club criticizes and condemns the police response. While wishing a quick recovery for an injured police officer(in critical care), they blasted Greek police for the indiscriminate use of chemicals around the facility which prevented men, women, and children from leaving.

The club clarified that the police response and officer injury was due to events perpetrated by individuals far away from the stadium that had nothing to do with the ongoing volleyball match. Unfortunately, the police presence made its way to Renti where chaos unfolded. Even when a fire broke out inside the facility, the police blocked the fire brigade from entering and Olympiacos staff had to put out the fire themselves.

The Hellenic Police further embarrassed themselves following the relentless tear gas when they separate the men from the women children. The women and children were allowed to leave while around 500 men and boys aged 15+ were detained.

Olympiacos likened the tactics of the Hellenic Police to that of the "Nazis" and have demanded the resignation of all Police members involved.

It wouldn't surprise me if we could get Silva, but he's no Emery. Emery has a pretty decent history of success at a high level with a number of clubs. Silva's record doesn't compare, and I don't think he's anywhere near as good.

Didn't Southampton sell most of their good players, and replace them with kids?

Not until after they were relegated. They bought some terrific players the summer of 2022 - Lavia, Bella-Kotchap and Caleta-Car all joined then. Their mistake was hiring a complete lunatic in Nathan Jones to take over from Hassenhutl.

Partly true, especially re:Jones. But they were already making moves to sign development players in 2022 before they went down. Lavia and Bella-Kotchap are examples of exactly that - talented players yes, but young and relatively raw. There were others - Livramento was and is excellent, Bazunu a good young keeper they signed from City. It's generally accepted they took it too far, too fast.

Might not be able to get there on time after work. A pint less in the pub. Material.

Just not as bad as it could be.

7.30 kick offs are the future. Particularly with the extra added time.

Is it mere coincidence that Forest were most successful when 730 was the normal kick off time, with 10 minutes for half time too as I recall. Game was over about 910, 915 at latest.

All went wrong with the switch to 745.

#nffc have now appointed their first ever specialist set-piece coach. England u19s head coach Simon Rusk - a former Brighton u23s manager - has started his role this week.
