Kids 1-0 down to Sunderland at Alfreton in the first knockout stage of the PL Cup. Joe Gardner got taken off at ht. so wonder if he’s in the Brighton travelling squad.

W2-1 AET (Kyle McAdam with both).

Toton as in Long Eaton? Fuck off. Nottinghamshire County Football Club can go play there, Nottingham Forest Football Club play in Nottingham.

I’m quite sure the club will choose their own site should a move be the decision.

Well yes. But they are going to be limited by what’s available and where they might be able to get planning.

I'm amused how much traction this bilge gets. Even a council as financial astute as NNC isn't going to hack off one biggest net capital companies out of spite.

I barely know where Toton even is, and I grew up in Nottm.

Edit: I've reflected a few minutes and I'm going to upgrade to I couldn't even tell you whether it's N/S/E or W of the city. It's a place I have heard people talk about occasionally. That's it.

    Is there a Hooters nearby?

It’s basically Long Eaton. One of the tram lines ends there.

Far too close to the M1 for my liking. It’s practically Derbyshire.

It's between chilwell and long eaton. Definitely in my (original) manor squire - it was in wandering range from bramcote. The site of Chilwell depot (formerly munitions factory from the first world war), laterly chetwynd barracks...part of the fire sale by the tories of publically held assets. Due to close finally in 2026. We used to play on there as kids, and get chased off by the military police. I had various family members who worked there, but never talked about it. Official secrets old boy. Was a major ordinance depot..and other stuff. Was due to be a HS2 hub. Which also isn't happening. For the fifth sixth largest world economy we don't half seem to sell and cancel a lot of public infrastructure.

My dad worked at Chilwell Ordnance Depot and I went to Toton Primary. I once visited one of the big sheds my Dad was in charge of and, as an eight year old, it looked roughly the same size on the inside as the warehouse from the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark. The foreman had an electric scooter to get from one end to the other.

    What’s bilge?

Us moving ground or the wanting to chose a site they’d like rather than one given to them?

Realised this in unfair to 90s ground builders. Toton has the worst aspects of 90s builds - no local infrastructure, miles away from the club’s current home; but doesn’t even have a dual carriageway nearby or a mainline railway station.

If Nottingham’s independent councillors are suggesting there, they haven’t even begun to understand the problem.

Pendantic points of order. They are independent Nottinghamshire County Councillors, not from the city. I think the city all looks the same to them.

The bit of Toton they're talking about is almost at the A52, so close to a dual carriageway.

But still a shit idea. Miles from anywhere unless you fancy Bardill's Garden Centre cafe for a pre-match pint.
